For those that wanted Gaither, and I will even admit i was one of those that was intrigued by his size and strength etc... But when a player has a history of not working out, etc... then I dont want him.

Jared Gaither-T- Ravens Mar. 23 - 8:52 am et

Restricted free agent LT Jared Gaither is not participating in the Ravens' offseason conditioning program.

Coach John Harbaugh is "disappointed" that Gaither has been a no-show. While ultra talented, Gaither's work ethic, commitment, and passion for the game remain big question marks. His absence won't help his value on the draft day trade market, let alone his chances of securing a long-term deal.

He's trying to get out of there is why he isn't showing up.

He is also a Free Agent so until he is under contract he can do what he wants.

He is absolutely trying to force a trade, the longer he holds out the less trade value he has, this way if they want to get anything for him at all they need to facillitate a quick trade, not bad maneuvering on agents part..............

He wants a long term deal, but I was never on the get Gaither trade wagon, though.

Gaither is lazy and unmotivated now? How the hell did he become a starter for the Ravens, of all people, with no work ethic, dedication or passion?

Sad. so much talent but not the drive to make the most of it. I wanted Gaither, but it looks like he is just not what we want.

I'm not so sure, burm. I think the previous posters MAY be spot on with the "forcing a trade" angle. He could very well be working out on his own.

You're tendedered a low pick, and you're still a free agent... the team is sending a message, obviously he is sending one as well...

I have not seen much on any Ravens board about him being a problem, but you have to wonder. If we could get him for a second it might be something to think about.

A 1st round tender is a low pick?

I don't think there's anything wrong with Gaither. He's started every game he's been available for, on the blind side, of a playoff caliber team with an excellent running game and certainly above average pass protection for the past 2 years and has been in the league 3 years.

He wants a long term contract, and is holding out.

How you get from that to his being lazy, unmotivated and uninterested in football is beyond me.

was on espn.com earlier and saw where Adam Schefter posted this on twitter: "Despite the fact that Ravens OT Jared Gaither has not signed his tender, he is planning to be at team's off-season program by next week."
