Luck vs Romo

I saw in another thread where Luck had done more than Romo with just as mediocre a team. Is this really so? Did the colts have as much injuries, etc? Sometimes excuses are really legitimate reasons. Anyhow, its time for Romo to move on; way too pressure from fans, media, its got to weigh him down. (reminds me of meredith)...

Andrew Luck vs Romo it doesn't surprise me :laugh2:

Does it really matter?

All I know is, they have a better offensive scheme than ours.

I'm already getting beaten down by the Romo vs. Luck talk. In a practical sense what does it matter? Let me give it to the critics, let me say yes Andrew Luck is a better QB than Romo is. Let's even say he wasn't just better this year but he's guaranteed to be a better QB than Romo every season from here on out. Let's say that's just truth and it can't be changed.

Now what?

Andrew Luck was rated as the best QB prospect the NFL draft has seen since Peyton Manning. Not only was he the 1st pick of the draft he's a 1-every-10-years draft pick.

So if you cut Romo you're not going to find Andrew Luck sitting at the 18th pick of this year's draft. You won't find him with the 1st overall pick of this year's draft. There was no Andrew Luck in the 2010 draft, there was no Andrew Luck in the 2011 draft, there is no Andrew Luck in the 2013 draft, and there will not be an Andrew Luck in the 2014 draft.

So if Luck is better than Romo it doesn't matter. Cutting Romo doesn't get you Andrew Luck.

Well for one, they do have a much easier schedule.

Bingo!! Luck's INT to TD ratio is putrid. That will come back to haunt him when he faces teams that can cash in on turnovers. Still it's been a good story in Indy this season without a doubt.

Yep it is a good story. I hate the Colts though living in Indy for school the last 4 years.

He will be a good QB for sure, but I doubt they go anywhere this year. Real teams will eat them up.

I don't think Luck would have gotten Dallas into the playoffs. At the same time though, I don't think Romo would have had the success in Indy that Luck has had this year.

after reading that, i agree completely except for one thing, there might not be a sure fire #1 QB in this draft, but thats not to say someone from this QB class cant go on to become a great QB. who that might be i have no idea

Typical Romo apologist response. So it used to be the offensive line, now it's that they have a better offensive scheme.

Definition of a "Romo Apologist"

Any person who constantly find excuses for a guy who's been in the league over 10 years, and the excuses change when typical excuses have been compromised.

reminds me of meredith...
And a year after Meredith retired and went into the MNF booth and was in Dallas to do a game those fical Dallas fans were chanting for Meredith to come back. Remember sometimes it is best to go with the devil you know than the one you don't.

Luck, and it isn't even close. The guy is a kid in comparison, and has a hell of a bright future. Romo on the other hand is an old fart that never has, and never will win anything worth talking about.

Seems like they already have gone somewhere. At least compared to us. Unless of course you don't consider a playoff appearance by the team who owned the worst record in the NFL last year.

Not saying they haven't. I think they were better than their record last year though.

And therein lies our biggest issue moving forward. Do we trust this organization to unearth the next great QB? And can we do it without a No. 1 overall pick?

Luck was a first overall pick.

Romo has overacheived as a free agent.

Romo is the better bargain, and can get Dallas to the SB with a good Oline.

All I know is Luck is a rookie and has his less talented team in the playoffs and Romo threw yet another INT in crunch time that ended Dallas' season.
