Is this the offensive rookie / young player that we all kind of expect to have the biggest Pre-season or do you think it will be someone else? Like a George Farmer...? Street?

Probably, but there is always a WR who looks amazing early in camp. The key is finding someone to replace Dwayne Harris. Can he block in the running game (Harris was great at that), can he play STs?

He is the most likely to get the 5th WR spot. He has been doing well as a WR and is highly likely to be the returner. He is also getting a lot of reps as a ST coverage guy just like Harris. If he can both return and play coverage on ST, he is basically a lock to make the 53, IMO.

There will likely be some young WRs that make big plays in the preseason, but that happens every year. Making the team is about doing it consistently, not just have a few big plays. Keeping a 6th WR is always an option, but is unlikely.

He's actually from this area, Manassas Virginia. I have a friend who knows him. It's awesome to see someone local make it.

As badly as the Cowboys surely require a return guy with the ability to replace Dwayne Harris, I really hope this little dude manages to do so in grand style. Plenty has been mentioned about his exceptional ability in that capacity, so it's at least encouraging to see someone holding that kind of promise. Can't wait to see him perform. Here's hoping he lives up to his reputation. I'm hoping he's not too fragile but they'll have to catch him first -- lol.

I just looked at his 40 numbers via google..

Shows he ran a 4.3 and a 4.29? Wow.. 36 inch vert as well.

Hopefully he plays as explosive as those numbers look.

I'm thinking Whitehead will shine in TC and PS. 1. because it appears he has the skills to play at this level. 2. because the coaches are going to give him a lot of opportunities.

How do you know he has been doing well?

It's funny. You always dismiss player performance as reported to us by media members...when convenient...but they always influence your opinions on players...when convenient.

Certainly Whitehead will be unlucky if he eventually gets cut. My hopes still tie in with Devin Street improving enough to impress and become a better overall contributor.

I think Street is more in competition with Farmer and the rest of the field than he is Whitehead.

I doubt we would keep Farmer and Street unless Whitehead fails or Whitehead doesn't fail and we keep 6 receivers.

Hard decisions on receivers every year it seems. How has Farmer looked so far?

Whitehead looks like he's got a real shot as a returner. It's a plus that he can contribute on offense, too. He's Beasley insurance.

We're not replacing Harris' impact with one player, though. That's going to have to come from a returner plus a LB/S or two on the coverage units. That's ok with me, though if we found the right LBs.

Not sure why anybody thinks Street's roster spot is in any real jeopardy. The guy's pretty comfortably on the roster unless something changes significantly.

Havent seen or heard anything about him other than Broaddus saying he thought he was behind Whitehead and Greenberry.

I have friends that have been at TC since day one.

Also, I've studied the media like I've studied players and therefore, I know which ones to believe and which ones are constantly wrong.

He should just follow Beasley around and do what he does as WR. As a returner he seems to be the consensus #1 in camp according to several people.

Check out Reggie Dunn's numbers...

Farmer has to show he's better than Harwell and Greenberry first.

If he makes it, it will probably be because he performed better than the other WR candidates as a return man and gunner. I do not believe he is one of the top-five receivers in camp.
