Apparently there was suppose to be more lulz at the expense of government and businesses but it looks like lulzsec was getting some heat.

I read elsewhere that they had plans this week but after hackers hacked them and their attempts to go after "Jester" they seemed to be in trouble. Also their i.d.'s looked to be compromised especially after a former member exposed their chat logs. Members quit too when they went after the FBI. So after their attempts to be a fun filled hacker group they had to quit.

Lulz statement:
"For the past 50 days we've been disrupting and exposing corporations, governments, often the general population itself, and quite possibly everything in between, just because we could," the LulzSec statement said. "All to selflessly entertain others — vanity, fame, recognition, all of these things are shadowed by our desire for that which we all love. The raw, uninterrupted, chaotic thrill of entertainment and anarchy."

They got too big for their britches I guess.

They where part of what caused Sony's to shut down their network. They where doing so many denial of service attacks that sony was vunerable and someone got in their back door.

Things along that lines

Their (the heads of it even though they would claim otherwise) egos got 10x Donald Trump's which is already 10x the size of the Empire State Building. They were attacking big targets who have infinite resources to hunt them down. They are quitting because their arrests have already started happening.

To hit Sony once or even twice was a big deal, but to attack the other big companies, governmental sites and above that to directly attack the FBI is plain stupid. They could easily throw hundreds of millions of dollars at finding them. What makes it even worse is they kept doing after the US declared cyber crime an act of war.

It's funny, most of these guys are kids or barely adults. That would half explain why they weren't wise enough to know better than to go as far as they were.

I hope they continue to go after them and prosecute everyone of them.
