Lunch Break/Newman

Someone screwed up or Wade wouldn't have been screaming at Campo on the sidelines. I'm pretty sure it was Newman who screwed up. Just because Newman comes on the radio and does his RW31 blame game doesn't mean he is not the one who screwed up. There must be a reason for him wanting to defend himself.

The Wade-Campo thing was them upset about Sensabaugh not making the play. Campo clearly said that Sensabaugh didn't see the ball.

Asking your safety to cover their best WR deep in single coverage is always a good idea. They ought to be thankful the coverage was as good as it was.

True we had a blitz on and felt we could get to Brett before he could hit the play. Good coverage, great throw and catch and a split second late on sacking the QB

It's the best option left when you're blitzing. Inside technique underneath forces the pass to the far edges as the inside receivers are essentially bracketed, with the inside throwing lanes filled. This is probably why they ran 2 high even while blitzing, the safeties are in position to play the edges. QB can't (or shouldn't) throw to their hot route if the pressure's there, and they either go down when they see they don't have a lane, throw it into coverage, or wing it wide. If there's no pressure, then it's just bad.

you are counting on the blitz at least hurrying the throw so its not accurate. If the blitz fails a good QB and WR will eat you alive no matter who is covering.

Some of you people should be forced to be fans of the Raiders or Lions for a few seasons. That would straighten you out.

Wasnt he lined up more than 5yds off the LOS to begin with?

If he was (and I think he was) then he couldnt "bump" him in the first place because it was beyond 5yds, unless he would have first come up to do so.

Regardless, the coverage was perfect but the guy (Sensabaugh) didnt make the play, that isnt Newman's fault.

I really dont know why this is such a big deal anyway.

No it's not.

I'm more interested on what happened with the offensive line in this game.

On a blitz like that you can get a safety covering a WR deep. That's what happens in this type of "chess" game.

As most people should be. Its the main reason we lost the game, without question.

lol I liked what T-New said...Derek Eagleton said congrats on the Pro Bowl He said "I appreciate it, I know it made a lot of people unhappy that I made it in, but I didn't vote myself in. I was voted in by other players & coaches in the league, so obviously I did something right". lol at all the little dumb @ fans that think they know what is going on during games

Newman did mention that Jenkins is the next Pro Bowl alternate. That had not been reported before. He also said he didn't even know he was an alternate until this week, which is odd. Many teams tell the players right away.

So, if Antoine Winfield goes to the Super Bowl or begs out of the Pro Bowl because of an injury, Jenkins will go, too.

Actually Todd Archer mentioned it as a possibility - http://cowboysblog.***BANNED-URL***/archives/2010/01/terence-newman-added-to-pro-bowl.html

It kinda got lost in the outrage over him getting picked.

I understand many of you believe Mike Jenkins had a better year but Newman was at least the second alternate. Minnesota's Antoine Winfield was the first and has been added to the roster but has a foot injury so Jenkins may have a chance yet if he is the third alternate.

I agree with this. The coverage scheme was good and the coverage was perfect. The safety never saw the ball which was a huge mistake. If he sees the ball at all it's an easy knock down or a probable interception. The mistake was Sensabaugh's alone.

That sounded like speculation to me. Archer said "if" Jenkins is the third alternate, and he never said that Jenkins WAS an alternate. Archer also apparently didn't know that Sheldon Brown was the second alternate. Newman was the third, so Jenkins must be the fourth.

What's weird is that Philly paper is reporting it's Sheldon Brown who is next alternate.

I hope Newman is right here.

LOL.

I love how he pointed out the obvious that so many folks seem to overlook. The fact that they don't know squat about whats being called or being done but they sure like to pretend like they do.
