That Dallas would win the SB and this would be a season in which we'd have an ending much different than early predictions would suggest.

Albom added that we we're getting stronger and would represent the NFC in the SB.

Bob Ryan was also very complimentary.

These guys have been very skeptical all year and are starting to come around.

The buck starts and stops with Tony Romo... we go as he goes.... if it were any other QB... none of these guys would be for us....

Its more like they are rooting for Romo than the Cowboys Organization
Romo has that effect on people

When a team is winning and is now 11-1, people will begin to notice all the talent on this team & we have a lot of it. Besides the big guys (Romo/TO Witten) on offense, there's also Ware, Ellis & Newman on defense. Many other players have also really stepped up this year like Crayton, Barber, Canty, Spencer, Hamlin & Henry; also Spears, Hatcher, etc. And don't forget our wonderful OL which is only getting better in every game.

Having said all of the above, football is and always will be about the QB. When you have a great young developing QB like Romo, the sky could be the limit. The Cowboys will go only as far as Romo takes us unless our defense holds him back. It's time for the defense to really take that big step today against the Lions. They need to show they can dominant on their side of the ball to match our offensive performance.

I agree 100%.

If the defense could have stopped one or two New England drives then that game finishes at the very least... closer... than it was....

All Romo and the offense needed was a few more drive opportunities. We scored 27 in about 20 minutes.... lost the TOP big time.

Albom also added if Parcells realized what he was leaving behind. ;)
This team would have been better last year if Parcells wouldn't have been so conservative on offense and would have let these guys loose more.
However his defensive scheme was very predictable also.
How many times did Parcells play so close to the vest that the game came down to the last minute??
Playing not to lose...the playoff game against the Seahawks was played that way.

Oh yes... agreed on that too.... but if DEFENSE could have taken New England out of a few drives then that may have been enough.

I think Lupica had a good point about things going against what everyone has thought since Week 1. All this talk about the Pats and the supposed dominance of the AFC, and here you have an 11-1 team in the weak NFC who no one's really talked about until recently.

If you get an undefeated Pats team against a Cowboys team with 1 or 2 losses, in the Super Bowl, everyone's going to be focused on the Pats finishing the deal. There have been a lot of overlooked teams jump up and bite the favorites in the sports world recently.

Our offense looked scared at the beginning of the game then came on like gang busters after they settled down. Next time, they need to start faster and score. An early 7 points would have made a lot of difference

We did have some stupid penalties. In addition, the Cheats benefitted by some bad calls and bad non-calls.

I have to think that if Henry had been able to play so that we could have put Newman in the slot on Welker, we would have stopped at least a couple of those drives. The garbage time TD the Cheats got was a direct result of our D being on the field so long. They were dead tired.
