Folks
The awesome tackle LVE had on Clement - I have a few questions:

1. Was the tackle a "Career Defining" tackle? I thought this question is pretty obvious, but I wanted to ask the question anyway.

2. For the OLD Cowboy fans - did this tackle remind you of the great tackle by Larry Cole on John Riggins on the last game in 1979 against the Commanders? That tackle saved the Cowboys' season in 1979.
To me, the Cole tackle on Riggins is the 2nd greatest tackle in team history. Ken Norton's tackle on Kenneth Davis at the goal line in SB XXVII is #1 to me.

3. If Dallas makes a comeback and takes the division on the Commanders, does the tackle by LVE move into the top 5 on greatest tackles in team history?

I think that tackle is really overstated because of the moment. Really, all he did was maintain outside leverage lol. It was a great play, but let's relax here.

Maliek Collins isn't getting nearly enough credit for his hustle towards the sideline and preventing the RB from cutting back to the inside. If he doesn't do that, we aren't talking about LVE.

Not sure yet. There were quite a few other plays that really helped last night. Like the tackle that prevented the 1st down on the Eagles next to last possession. Though the bobbled ball helped. But they punted, and we didn't take much time off the clock. But it made them use their TO's.

A few other 4th down stops.

But for LVE. I think he will have many more tackles like that.
His interception sparked the D as well.

It was a great play by him..

I even think he knew it was coming pre-snap as he started to shade further to the sideline which gave him an even better two steps to make that play

If he doesnt make that play its easily a 1st down and with that convoy of blockers its maybe a TD

Maybe..

But the situation was crucial and it was 2 blockers and a RB who is good in space vs 1 linebacker and he made the play.

Pretty much he has been out of my expectations.

I am betting he can rush the passer, too.

Seen very little of that with Lee out.

This guy has greatness written all over him.

Great play, but this is overdoing it a bit. I will say there was a nuance to this play that I'm not sure some noticed. There was an O-linemen coming over to block LVE, and LVE actually cut into the blocker to make sure the blocker wasn't able to drive through him an take him out of the play, which would have allowed the RB to cut upfield. In doing so he forced the RB to continue to run wide, and when the RB was committed to going wide LVE bounced off the blocker to go make the tackle.

This thread doesn't exist if Collinsworth doesn't make a scene about that play.

Right, Collinsworth probably misread the clock and thought the game was over at the point. But nope, the Egirls even got another drive to try to win it.

I think on a replay, Collinsworth had mentioned how LVE shed the blocker and ran to make the play. But there were other players there forcing the play to go wide as well. I think so anyway.

..not to mention on the replay you can clearly see, JG throw a banana peel just to the side of Clemens. Im sure that helped. ..;)

I'm sure you are right that there were trailing Cowboys that would have been there if the RB had cut back toward the middle, but if LVE had been driven to the sideline where the RB didn't have to actually cut back, but instead was just able to turn a little more upfield it's possitle those Cowboys wouldn't have been able to get there. In any case. I thought it showed a great instinct by LVE to realize he couldn't try and go around the blocker or through the blocker, so instead he essentially veered into the block and then bounced off it to make the tackle.
