So i was driving home from Austin and had my mind wandering and seems to be a lot of doubt from fans this guy can play LB to thin etc etc, i don't think that BUT

what if he struggles at LB, maybe better as an OLB in a 3-4 but this Kid is Tall, 6'4 266 and is fast and nimble had great numbers in cones etc can jump pretty well..

what does this remind you of?

a Defensive end, pass rusher for sure.. should he struggle at LB i bet he can be converted into a good DE I mean LB mentality means hes be good in the run game and that frame and speed make him a good rusher..

why not?

Well we gotta see what he has first but I would question the pick and evaluation of the player in general since it was a 1st rounder for a LB

LVE was a saving grace to this draft. And I think he is 256 not 266.

Anyway, he brings the grade up, he and Williams, from an F to a C-. the 2 trades bring it up to a C+

Now this is as of today. In a few weeks I may feel different. Becasue grading at this point really doesn’t mean anything to anyone other than myself. My opinion to myself only.
Want to clarify that before some get their panties in a wad.

And in 2 to 3 years maybe it changes again.

I don’t think most doubted LVE so much as they thought the risk was higher than other prospects
LVE has great potential but there are some parts of his game that if he doesn’t correct will keep him from reaching that potential
Some thought there were safer picks
But he fills a need, had great potential
He wasn’t my first choice at 19 but I see the potential
If he reaches that potential he will be a great player

A change to the 3-4 makes Lawrence a much less useful player. And it leaves us with even less depth at LB. Plus, no nose tackle.

So, no, a move to the 34 doesn’t make any sense.

And it probably wouldn’t even benefit LVE at all since his strengths are flying to the ballcarrier to collect tackles and covering the pass, not rushing the passer (despite having the frame you grow into an edge rusher hypothetically). The response to him seeming lanky and too lean to deal with serious blockers isn’t to have him rush the passer and wage war with left or right tackles basically every down by design, which is what he’d be doing in a scenario where you’re moving him to 34 OLB to use his explosiveness as a constant blitzer.
