LVE's performance last night

They took a gamble on him And it didn’t work out. These mistakes take time to correct. LVE knows better than anybody that he’s not performing at his usual level. It’s physical not mental and unfortunately can’t be fixed

I agree that as we get more playmakers on D it becomes so apparent how mediocre the mediocre players really are. Is there anyone (Neal?) that can replace LVE? LVE is bottom 10% tier starting LB in the league at the present.

There’s no excuse for how hesitant and soft LVE’s been playing.

I held out hope but he’s a different than he was in 2018. We’ll move on from him tarter this season and be done with it.

LVE's problem is speed and bend. He's not fast or quick, he's powerful. So once he does make the right decision, he's strong at the point of attack. The problem is, he's in the wrong system. This is a fast man's system.

Are we going to talk about 55 dogging it or ignore it because he doesn't swipe?

After rewatching both videos a few times (while not being distracted with work anymore for the day), I realized you got this thread all wrong! lol

Don't get me wrong, LVE has not been playing so well, and he's definitely not the same LVE of 3 years ago when he was lighting it up as a rookie LB. But the 2 videos you used to call him out are both wrong. LVE did his job well. Let me explain...

On the first video, LVE actually took the TE in coverage in the flats as he supposed to, thus making it look as if LVE was "slow reacting" to the tackle made by Micah in the flats behind the line of scrimmage. LEE'S first responsibility was the TE, whom he covered well, then go and help and make a tackle elsewhere if needed.

On the second video, the cutback run from left to right up the middle for a 25 yard run gain, it was more on Micah than it was on LVE. The running back cut back inside at the line of scrimmage. Micah was there to make the tackle, but Micah hesitated while the running back ran right by him for 25 yards. That was 1 of 4 plays which Micah messed up on overall. Overall on that play, that was more on Micah than it was on LVE.

Sorry to say, you used 2 video clips that actually hurt your initial assessment while making LVE look good.

He should have made the second play. On the first play, it looked like he had the tight end, who was one of the two passing options. You'll notice that he slowed and settled in behind the tight end before the pass was thrown while Parsons made a beeline for the back.

It would help on these criticism if those writing them could understand that players have assignment responsibilities.

There are a few who should receive blame on the second play, but LVE deserves his share. He was there and needs to make that tackle. Of course, Cook has made plenty other linebackers miss tackles.

Yes, LVE had a shot and missed, but Micah was closest and just stood there watching.
