I recently got a new Apple and I love it. I learn something new about it everyday--like how easy it is to make and publish songs etc.. But I was messing with the automator feature and...
.
Somehow, I've managed to alter the function of my delete key so that my automated voice reads the URL of the page I am on when I hit delete.

It's rather annoying. And I'd appreciate anyone who could help guide me back to simplicity. . .

Thanks

Not sure how you got there, either (I've used Macs for years but never have messed around with Automator), but do take a look at the VoiceOver Utility (it's in Utilities folder inside Apps folder) and see if there's something there you can turn off.

You're getting close. I was in the automator and now if I highlight everything and then press delete, my computer reads aloud what the text says. . .

This sucks because I can't delete anything. . .

ok, i think i found your problem.

go to system pref (located in dock or clicking the apple logo then sys prefs..) then go to "speech" then un-click "speak selected text when key is pressed" and it should stop it from doing such

let me know if it is still doing it.

While we are talking about Macs, can someone explain to me how to save a screenshot of a webpage by using the preview function.

How do you save it. All I can do is put it on the dashboard.

if you do the command 3 or cmd 4 it saves it to the desktop (thats the default spot you can change where you save it if you wish)
