RESIGN
• Dez Bryant (tagged)
• Cole Beasley (done)
• DeMarco Murray
• Doug Free
• Bruce Carter
• Justin Durant
• Dwayne Harris
• Tyler Clutts
• CJ Spillman
• George Selvie

(I see resigning Murray, Free and Carter as more than just retaining our own.)

TENDER
• Cam Lawrence (done)
• Ron Leary (done)
• Darrion Weems (done)
• Sterling Moore

(Beasley signed long-term instead of tendered.)

SIGN
• Jabaal Sheard
• Stephen Paea

Assumptions: Gurley, Gordon, the top-five pass rushers and top-six OL are gone.

DRAFT
27. Kevin Johnson (CB)
I have to admit, Wake is the one ACC team I didn't watch tons of. KJ sounds like a tremendous cover corner, though, and looks the part in videos. He projects to the end of round one-ish. His weight and the fact that he's not a great tackler makes me a bit leery, but no player is perfect. In a (more) perfect world, one of the top pass rushers falls or Marinelli falls in love with Eli Harold and the idea of putting a biggun next to him, ala Seattle, but I don't see that happening. I like Flowers or La'el Collins here too, but I think they'll both be long gone.

60. Denzel Perryman (ILB)
He may be 5-11 and he may only run 4.78 in skivvies, but when Perryman puts the pads on he's a quick, instinctive, sideline to sideline monster who's also great in coverage. One of my fave players in the draft.

91. Anthony Chickillo (DE)
Another underrated Miami player. He isn't a superb athlete, but he's relentless and strong as an ox. Perfect strong-side DE

124. Donovan Smith (OT)
Huge, mauling OT with good explosion and long arms.

155. Stephon Diggs (WR)
This guy was a Parade All-American coming out of high school and a feared receiver and return man at Maryland. He's a gifted pass catcher with good size, plays a lot faster than his combine numbers and is a real field stretcher--always a threat to blow the doors off and catch a long one; he can turn any completion into six. Injuries limited his PT some in college, but when he was on the field and healthy he was electric. I think he will be a steal on the third day.

206. Kyle Loomis (P)
Best punter in college football. He's a little older than most players coming out, but his leg is a weapon. Jones is ok, but I think a stud punter like Loomis can be a game changer.

208. Chris Bonner (QB)
In his senior year, Bonner completed over 60% of his passes at a 9.1 YPA clip, with 33 TD's and 9 INT's. At 6-3 and 230, he has a big arm and good athleticism to move around. I never saw the kid play, but everything I've read says he dominated the competition at the Div II level. To me he is well worth a seventh rounder to explore.

And one UDFA
Henry Coley (ILB)
Not huge (6-1, 240). Not a blazer (4.78-ish). But the guy is surprisingly athletic and just makes plays. In 2014, he compiled 76 tackles, 12 for loss, and *8* sacks.

This appears to be well thought out. I would be OK with it, but I might prefer some changes.

I had a feeling that Henry Coley was a Virginia player...

I would prefer to use the money from signing Jabaal Sheard and Stephen Paea on 1 better DE. The Cowboys really pushed Paea around last season.

Is Perryman really good in coverage? I need to be convinced that any LB drafted early can be excellent in coverage because that's a big issue in this defense.

Chickillo is interesting. He seems like a good Strong Side DE. I was hoping to get him in the 4th.

I expect Donovan Smith to go earlier. Good pick if available.

Parnell over Free.

If I'm gonna recommend an UDFA, it's gonna be a guy I know well. Plus, Coley can play.

Good enough, but I think Paea is solid and Sheard is a sleeper playing out of position. Who would you prefer at DE? I just can't see Red sanctioning Hardy.

The combine says no but my eyes say yes. He was a great cover LB in college.

Me too, but I don't think he lasts until the late fourth. If you sign Hardy or another higher dollar DE, I'd go Jarrett here. I really don't understand all the "he's a scheme specific" talk about him. Kid can play.

Wouldn't doubt it.

Parnell over Free.

I prefer Free because of the intangibles he brings. He's a great locker room guy and the leader of our otherwise young OL.

Just a little humor on my part.

McPhee or Hardy. I think Hardy's character issues are overblown.

I'm not against Sheard but I think they need more.

I think one of Brent, Bishop or T. McClain will be the starting 1-tech. I really like Bishop's upside.

I have it in my notes that coverage was my question mark in watching him.

I like Eric Kendricks, but he'll probably be gone by #60.

How far will Paul Dawson fall?. I still think he is a good player and much faster than he showed at the combine.

Will Shaq Thompson fall ? People don't seem to even know what position he will play. I can't see a team drafting him early as a Safety that runs in 4.64, but he is small as a LB. I can see him fall to the point that he would be a good option.

They still have plenty of room to draft a DE even if they sign a guy like Hardy, IMO.

I like Jarrett but I can see him being available past the 3rd.

The urgency of finding an OT in the draft will be affected by the Free/Parnell decision. Parnell would likely be a solid RT for several years to come while Free could be on the decline and might need to be replaced by next season or sooner.

I'm curious to see more of Weems and Hawkins. The Cowboys liked them enough to keep them on the 53 for a full season (Weems in 2013 and Hawkins in 2014).

I prefer Free because of the intangibles he brings. He's a great locker room guy and the leader of our otherwise young OL.
I keep seeing that reasoning, but I don't like it. Fred, Martin and Tyron are already All-Pros. They don't need an average at best veteran as a leader. Fred is already the defacto spokesman for the group in regards to fans/media and Martin was normally right there with him.

Parnell played as well as Free in 2014 and considering that Parnell had 1 start on any level of football at OT compared to Free with about 80 starts prior to 2014, it's highly likely that Parnell will completely surpass Free in ability next season now that he has some experience.

Also, Free had foot/ankle surgery in both Jan 2014 and Jan 2015 and he's 31. He could be on the decline. His foot quickness has allowed him overcome his strength limitations. If he loses any quickness, his ability will likely decline rapidly.
