OK, not really..... but he needs a few of these :clubbed::clubbed::clubbed:

Just got through rewatching the Texas drive to take the lead.

It was 1:53 left with the clock stopped. Texas is at the 4 w/ 2nd and goal and two time outs.
There's an injury timeout so McCoy's able to go to the sidelines. Stands right next to Brown for a good bit of time.
Ref whistles the game clock to start, play clock for Texas starts also, with 40 seconds.
Texas almost immediately breaks the huddle and ultimately snaps the ball with 21 seconds on the pc.
Whittaker scores. More than 89 seconds left on the clock.

Frustratingly poor judgment IMO. How they didn't coach him up and let McCoy snap that with less than 5-10 seconds on that clock, just leaves me shacking my head.

Even if Whittaker got stopped on the 2nd, a running game clock at 1:15 - 1:10, 3rd and goal with TO's in your pocket, is only a good thing I'd think?

Texas could of theoretically won or lost that game with little to no time on the clock, obviously it was "2 plays to make a first", AND surely would of forced TT to burn their final TO in that scenario.

Since Whittaker did score, they'd of left TT w/ maybe 70 seconds and made their game winning drive about 1/3 more difficult.

Not trying to take anything away from Tech, but mercy that was a sicking feeling knowing what a F-up that was. Love ya Mack, but..... dude!!!

Greg Davis should be fired for not devising a running game for this offense that is as efficient as Texas Tech's. If they can use the spread offense and still have success running the ball, we should be able to do the same thing.

BTW, I agree with the clock management......however, let's not forget, even with the bogus clock management, the game was our.

In the first half, Shipley dropped a deep pass, something he almost never does. It cost them a huge gain, and possibly even a TD, since the defender was falling down on the play.

On the Pick 6 by McCoy....two stupid offensive penalties really hurt us. I believe on one play we had the first down, only to have the penalty. Then we followed that up with a second penalty. Colt then tries to force the ball to Shipley (he did that a lot this game)...and pick 6.

On the TT drive that gave them a 6 pt lead late, we could have held them to zero points, but Thomas was looking to make a big hit instead of playing the ball. If he gets that INT, who knows what he does with the ball. It sure looked like he had a lot of open space to run. I don't think he returns it for a pick 6, but I think he could have gotten a nice 20-30 yd return.

On the final drive, the ball is tipped and goes right through Gideon's hands with 8 seconds left. If he is able to secure the ball, we take a knee to kill the clock and escape with a 1 pt victory.

On the TD to Crabtree....I have no idea what Brown was doing....or even the safety who was supposed to be over there helping. So he caught the ball.....if they could have just kept him inbounds and not tackled him until the clock ran out.

Until those final two TT drives, the UT defense held the RRs scoreless in the second half and on both of those drives, they had opporunities for score saving interceptions.....but those DBs catch as well as our Cowboys DBs.

Westbrook, Vasher, Ross, Huff, or Griffith catch those interceptions. Oh how I miss those guys.

My bright spot of the game......we found our next big play WR. Malcolm Williams is a stud in the making. We need to go deep more often......WOW

sure, fire the whole coaching staff and set em back about 4 years so we can watch zero u dominate the conference for another decade.

the horns will be a dominant force to be reckoned with next year and they will beat uo by at least 3 touchdowns.

He's also not a starter, so I'll cut him some slack. But no, he wasn't stellar.

Regardless, the secondary stepped-up enough in the 2nd half to win. They did hold Harrell to only 2 TD's, one of which was the fluke hail-Mary for the winner.

It never should of come down to Brown having to make a play for the win either way.

The S ***-up on that, I'd bet the farm on it. It was his responsibility to be the over-the-top double team cover.

My post last night at the start of that drive:

run that clock, good God don't give the ball back to Tech if we're lucky enough to score.

If Brown is anything like Palmer, he will be awesome next year. Palmer was forced to start as a freshmen and got abused like an orphan. But he became a very good CB after that season. Brown is young and makes some mistakes. He should get better.
