Macky B

He was penciled in to start but got hurt in preseason last year. His replacement played well.

Now that raises other concerns about his durability but that is not a good basis for your claim.
that's ducktales. yes he did have turf toe but the main reason he didn't win that battle was because he sucked. panthers already brought in some competition for the position. he was never going to win it. here's an article from preseason 2011 where a panthers beat writer laughed at the notion of bernie starting.

Looking at Panthers' depth chart

Some other items of interest on Carolina’s depth chart.
  • Mackenzy Bernadeau is listed as the starter at right guard. Yeah, like that’s going to happen. The Panthers went out and grabbed veterans Max Jean-Gilles and Geoff Hangartner after injuries wiped out this position. It’s likely one of them will start.

It is a black and white issue. He was not starter quality in Carolina. He was given the chance to start and failed. Why would he be any good in Dallas? Callahan is not the miracle worker that some thought. Actually, he has failed as a coach. His three hand picked linemen has stunk.

According to your logic, Priest Holmes would have never been the All Pro type of player he was later in his career. He was a nobody early on in his career.

Not exactly the same thing. Priest Holmes was playing behind a guy named Jamal Lewis. We're not talking about a Jamal Lewis/Priest Holmes situation here.
