How about we not only use Romo as the closer, but as the reliever, and the starter as well? I think that idea would work better .....

Romo isn't someone who can magically lead the Cowboys to 3 TDs in ten minutes.

If Weeden started the first half against New York, we'd be lucky if the Cowboys were trailing by only 14 points at halftime.

McMahon brings up a good point.

Romo has basically been on ice after every game to get him ready for the next. Dallas plays New York on Sunday NIGHT. That's only 3 1/2 days until kickoff against Philly.

Beat the Giants, but be prepared to possibly not have Romo for Philly, at least not an effective Romo.

No Romo against the Giants and that could be a loss. Heck, we could lose with Romo.

That's what I mean. Just prepared for Romo to have to miss Philly as a result, or play poorly. They'll might have to numb him head to toe on Thanksgiving.

Suggestion for Cowboys: Don't start Tony Romo vs. Giants. Use him as closer if necessary. Get him to Thanksgiving as healthy as possible.
It's crazy to ask Tony Romo to play a full game Sunday night and another Thursday afternoon. Need him more vs. Eagles than Giants.

@espn_macmahon he'll be 4 wks removed from his back injury for the Giants game. If he didn't sit out vs JAX he won't vs NY, nor should he.

Tim MacMahon ‏@espn_macmahon 1h1 hour ago
@TheJordanRoss That's same twice surgically repaired back that caused him to stop practicing on Wednesdays before cracks. Sun/Thurs brutal

@espn_macmahon completely unrelated injuries. Romo will and should play vs NY and PHI.

@espn_macmahon it's crazy to sit your starting QB coming off a bye week vs a division opponent.

It truly does amaze me just how dumb/trollish Tim MacMahon is. I honestly have to think that he writes his trash knowing full well that it's trash. He's making a living, so why not. It's obvious that he has no attachment to journalistic integrity at all.I despise everything that MacMahon stands for and every day I see his name, and know that he is making money doing what he's doing, my day becomes worse.

Hmm. Was that a little over the top? Yeah probably... been a rough few days over here :). I'm feeling a bit grumpy.

What a total dumb arse idea...............this is not baseball here, you don't bring in guys off the bench in the 2nd half to close out games..............I cant believe I am actually having to explain this for MacMahon.

Well we should not have pissed away the Skins game then...................this is the consequences of losing to Colt McCoy, we don't have any breathing room and we have to keep pace with Philly. We cant go into our 2 games with Philly already behind the 8 ball on division losses. If we lose to the Giants, we will have 2 division losses to Philly's none. Even if we split with Philly, we would then have 3 division losses and them only one.

Its going to be dam hard to win the division when you lose at least half of your division games.................and we still got another game with Washington so that could be 4 division losses there...............I don't think we win the division going 2-4 against our division opponents.

The philly game is clearly bigger, but going with Weeden is conceding defeat against the Giants. I'll take a chance in both games, over a guaranteed loss in one.

If Romo can't play Thursday effectively then he can't play Thursday effectively. But you don't sit him earlier because you might need him later.

Bird in the hand.

I don't pretend to know, but from his tweets, I have gotten the feeling McMahon is a major Cowboy hater and praying they miss the playoffs so he can tell everyone again how crappy an organization it is.
