Wow that seems really low, but thats what I come to expect. They just go off of last years stats.

What do expect....?????? Until we can show we can score some points and prove we can stop someone from scoring we will continue to receive poor ratings.

These ratings are bizarre. Dallas has a higher ranking on defense than offense, and Washington has a higher ranking on offense than defense. Washington's offense is ranked really high for a team that really stunk it up on that side of the ball last year. Madden must finally be going senile.

what sucks is the team with the worst possible chance of doing anything is second, while the two teams that cant do soemthing are at the bottom

Well in ESPN NFL 2k5. The ratings go up as the team progresses in the season. When you d/l a new roster the ratings get better , or worse depending on how the team does. In 2k5 we started out as an overall 84 than dropped to 70 something. :-/

***? it's absolutely as if they compiled the rankings mid-february... with zero mind to FA acquisitions and the draft.

i believe i'll wait 'til next year.

sorry EA and your living icon, johnny-boy...

I remember how last year the 49ers were very low initially, but after the first roster update they were ranked better. These ratings arent gonna mean crap. They base it on individual players and their performance last year, sorta explains washington defense as Portis will still have a high ranking, and the line on paper will too. On defense, a lot of low-key players so its probably why it is lower, not that I agree with that system though.

well, i WAS gonna buy madden 06, but probably not now.

what a load of crap that is!

Are you kidding me?
Washington has a better ranked offense than us?
We had a killer offense compared to them. Their offense was nonexistent. Portis had what... 2 TDs or something. Gimme a break. Julius had more than that in one game.

Skins D that low?

Guess Madden really valued Pierce and Smoot.

They've seriously decreased a lot of players overalls.

Players who will have decreased numbers:
Offense:
Drew Bledsoe (Probably low 80s)
Anthony Thomas (probably mid to low 70s)
Flozell Adams (Probably high 80s low 90s)
Marco Rivera (Probably mid to high 80s)
Terry Glenn (mid to low 80s)
Keyshawn Johnson (mid 80s)
Quincy Morgan (probably mid 70s)

Defense:
Terence Newman (low 80s)
Aaron Glenn (mid 80s)
Anthony Henry (mid to low 80s)
La'Roi Glover (high 80s to low 90s)
Jason Ferguson (mid to low 80s)
Roy Williams (high 80s to low 90s)
Dat Nguyen (high 80s)

And our rookies are probably ridiculously low ranked.

How does Washington's defense rank lower than their offense?

Did they actually see games last year?

Rich........

Good thing there are the online updates for when the cowboys are 10-0
