I was looking at a site that had madden 2007 player ratings and these guys had royw ranked as the 7th best safety on the game behind ed reed then polamalu, dawkins, sean taylor, darren sharper, john lynch and rodney harrison *** is that about guys well honestly guys I think roy sharper, harrison, and lynch has the same rating at 94 but he's still down from the 96 he had last year and to be tied with a bunch of guys that are clearly past their prime but still good is rediculous. Brian dawkins has a 98? You got to be kidding me even the folks down here in philly admits that dawkins has lost a step and that they would take roy williams. Clearly this is cowboys bias and terrence newman isn't in the top 10 conerback ratings either I'll post those in a few.

That is correct though. The ratins are youtube in one of the videos. They just have the top 10 at each position though.

Dawkins was banged up last year and nowhere near his regular self. Taylor is a beast who'll likely create 8 critical penalties a season. Ed Reed did jack crap last year, I don't care if he was injured-- staying healthy is part of the game. Sharper is 600 years old and past his prime. Lynch had a good year, but again, he's past his prime as is Harrison. Polamalu had the best year of any safety last year, but Roy has been consistently among the very best every year. The other safeties keep changing, but Roy is constant.

Madden ratings have ALWAYS been off. Not just the OVR's, but mainly speed ratings too.

In Madden, if you're a good player then your speed rating will be higher then it should be. Randy Moss will have a higher speed rating then Newman despite the fact that Newman is faster then Moss in real life.

Also, since there aren't any Cowboys that thump their chest after every single routine play, they don't get the media attention of less players (ex. DeAngelo Hall). That attention has a lot to do with the ratings as well, IMO.

love the game, but the ratings are based on popularity and name recognition, not on the field performance.

its a must to spend time getting a select few underrated guys at each spot better via the "training camp" mode. i think they have a new mode for the offseason now... you can run the 40, bench, etc. might be interesting.
