Any word on his injury status?

He was a question mark as of last week.

Wow-that is like 3 times in 2 years he's pulled his hammy, since he signed with them?

When he's healthy, he brings ALOT to the table, the guy hasn't lost a step, nor an instinct. And like Newman, he can cover the slot too.

The Giants are really in the same boat we're in with regard to injuries.

We both have WRs that have missed all of camp (Glenn/Burress).
We both have pass rushers that have missed all of camp (Ellis/Strahan)..although Strahan isn't injured, I don't think he'll be at top speed.
We both have our top CBs hurting (Newman/Madison).

It'll be interesting to see who can exploit matchups better.

Madison missed like 8 games last season with a hammy-when he was in there, he was effective.

I also read that Madison is out. They say he needs another week or two.

Giants' best CB is hurt, too

Folks around these parts are rightfully worried about Terence Newman's foot. New York city slickers are sweating Sam Madison's hamstring.

Newman's status for the season opener is iffy. Madison, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Dolphins, is expected to miss the game.

The biggest difference in the cornerback situations for the Cowboys and Giants is that New York has addressed the issue in recent drafts. The Giants used this year's first-rounder on Aaron Ross, a Texas and John Tyler High product. Corey Webster was a second-round pick in 2005. The Cowboys haven't used a first-day pick on a corner since taking Newman fifth overall in 2002.

Nevertheless, you've got to like T.O.'s odds of torching Ross, Webster or R.W. McQuarters

Durability, or lack thereof, was what got him cut in Miami. Outside of Pierce the Giants FO hasn't had much luck in free agency.

Speaking of Pierce, I wonder how long before he'll wear out. He plays MLB at 6'1" 235lbs in a division that features three rivals that play pretty physical upfront.
