Mafia is what I think of when I see his name. Unless he is absolute garbage, you got to go with him over some of the older guys. Does anyone know if he's Italian?

Mafah is a 7th round pick so he’ll be in a battle especially with us drafting a back in the 5th round. We brought in a couple of free agents and they’ll be cuts this summer.

if he can play. if he is slow to the line. if he doesn't have the footwork and gets chipped and hit in the backfield, then its useless. when zeke lost some of his foot speed and couldn't get to the line fast enough, he became useless.

If the middle is bunched up, does he have the run vision instincts and lateral movement to bounce or cut back to a developing run lane or outside ff the edges ?

Me: i wanna see his run skills and lateral movement - otherwise nuthin special and he's headed for the practice squad ..at the least.

Aren't you aware that over exaggerating the abilities of drafteee is an essential part of being a homer?......here's how it goes here

1. Each participant starts their own rookie thread with, comparisons, videos and of course heaped praise

2. Turing said rookies name into a powerful nickname is mandatory as well.

3. Watch said rookie " ball out" in the preseason against other rookies and Jags and proclaim his future HOF inevitability.

4. Watch said rookie barely see playing time or see him getting torched when he does play in the regular season and blame the HC

5. And this is the most important part.......never acknowledge that one was completely wrong about said player and never acknowledge being wrong about it.

How about we just wait and see if he makes the team.. You can't just have a player that you're hopeful enough and then he gets a free pass onto the roster he's gonna have to just earn his way that's the fun part of this running back group and a defensive tackle group both those positions are wide open for the taken I mean the depth chart is wide open so let them come take it I can't wait to see practice reports but preseason all these running backs will have to prove themselves all of them on the field and we get to watch it they'll have to play real games in preseason and when I mean real games meaning live games that we get to see them trying really hard to make the roster..

I believe Williams is pretty much a lock. Even if he is just the player he was last season (3.7 YPC), I think the reason we got him is to be the hammer in this offense. He is the vet starter for at least this year.

I think Blue is pretty much a lock. He brings a speed element that none of our other RBs offers. How that we'll translate, we'll see, but I don't think we'd give up on a fifth-round pick even if he takes a while to find his footing.

If we keep three backs, which is likely, then that spot comes down to Sanders, Mafah and Vaughn. There's a good chance that Sanders could be where Elliott and Cook were last year, up against the RB wall. Vaughn making the roster again is questionable just because his size is still a detriment. Mafah may not have to show much to beat them out, and if he shows he can play special teams as the third back, that alone might give him the leg up.

I will wait and see how he does in TC and PS games. Then again, it may not tell us what we need to know. Only the coaches can determine that. as to all the stuff we do not see, nor are privileged to know.

I do like the pick, and the possibilities. But we are in a wait and see mode about the entire RB group.
Blue will make the team, and Leupke most likely.ether Williams or Sanders will also, as for some veteran player leadership and knowledge.
Mafah has a chance over Sanders or Williams, as I don't think both of them make the team.
If Mafah makes the team, and they keep 4 RB's, he may be inactive quite often.
If he can do what Leupke can, then he may replace him.

Look this isn't Ezekiel Elliott it's not Tony Pollard these are not homegrown draft picks that are stuck to the new regime I don't think anybody's a lock if you think so that's great but I don't think so I think it's the most wide open competition on the team outside of defensive tackle I don't think there is a depth chart they will be creating a depth chart...

I wouldn't be shocked if they give up on Sanders and Williams and don't like what they have and hopefully it won't be too late to go get Nick Chubb..

Doesn't matter how we feel we'll find out in training camp and preseason and roster cut downs and game one we'll see who's lining up...

Nothing wrong with wide open competition keep telling these people that there are no locks on this team at running back as far as the depth chart goes so it should be fun to watch they'll all have to play a lot of significant snaps in training camp and preseason to win their jobs...

Nothing would surprise me at this point how they could give up on both Sanders and Williams and hopefully it won't be too late and they can pick up Nick Chubb...

Got to love what he can become, but it's a crowded room. Some think that just because we drafted him that he's an automatic lock to be on the roster. All depends on how Williams and those guys play, I'd love to see him out there
