Maher appreciation

I’m really proud of this guy. He’s turned into a terrific a kicker. He was shakey a couple of years ago but stuck with it.

I - along with plenty of us - scoffed and rolled our eyes when they brought Maher back.

And I don't blame anybody.
It's nice when a player comes out and proves our doubts wrong.
But there's a long slog ahead and we might be cursing his name before long.

17 games is a long time and production must be maintained throughout to change hearts and minds.

though it's early .. i'm eating crow about being wrong on him, and admit that he's been a helluva addition to what was a concerning role prior to the season.

He's been so dependable that I'm not worried about him anymore when we need that critical FG
..and the only two Xtra points he's missed has been more on the blocker ..and the snapper.

Realtime Maher is making plays with his body and his leg. 2nd week in a row he has had to go above and beyond kicking duties on an extra point.

Yeah its not uncommon for kickers to bounce around the league early in their careers before they "get it".
