The Dallas Cowboys had seven players selected to the Pro Bowl. However, it should have been eight.

There have been a lot of pleasant surprises on this Dallas Cowboys team in the 2022 NFL season. QB Cooper Rush going 4-1 as a starter, LT Tyler Smith being as efficient as he has been so quickly at that position, and WR Noah Brown blossoming into an impactful wide receiver in his fifth-year with the team. However, none of these may be as shocking to fans as the way kicker Brett Maher has revived his career here in Dallas this season.

If it were me I wouldn't care about the snub. The game a week later is when I would rather be playing.

Can't see Maher deserving a spot over someone like Seattle's Jason Myers, who has made all but one of his 27 kicks. Maher's been very good for us, but his 88.5 percent is lower than several players.

Yeah he and Wilson deserved it more than some of the other guys that made it.

Definitely more than Turpin in my opinion.

But the Pro Bowl is often a year late in recognizing, and then keeping a name player in too long based on past reputation.

Maher is another player that has been outstanding this year. This season has been outstanding so far. Hopefully we get a strong finish. I like the way it is limning up. We are likely to getting a bad team in the 1st round and should win that first game and then are capable of beating any team after that.

What return guy is better than Turpin? Turpin is very good. He pretty much fields all of the punts flawlessly and is excellent returning them as well.

Except for that time when he didn't field the punt flawlessly, fumbled it, and the opposing team recovered.

Other than that...... yeah. He's been "flawless".

He certainly has and is. He has been excellent and his peers that play and coach game agree with that.

If Turpin didn't have 2 TD returns in preseason, he wouldn't be anywhere near the Pro Bowl conversation.

Before now, I've never seen preseason plays affect regular season pro bowl decisions.

Exactly. Seattle's kicker was 26 of 27

Maher wasn't snubbed it's just a really difficult position to make pro bowl day 1 roster since they don't select a backup (it's one kicker per conference and that's it).

It seems like some fans are essentially comparing Maher to Turpin as far as Pro Bowl worth instead of comparing them to others who actually play their position.

Although Turpin's average is lower than some other punt returners, he has more 20-plus-yard returns than any other NFC returner.

Turpin is a good returner. Our blocking on kickoffs especially has been super bad.
