Except for that time when he didn't field the punt flawlessly, fumbled it, and the opposing team recovered.

Other than that...... yeah. He's been "flawless".
everybody in the pro bowl has made multiple mistakes

Oh my, so he has been over 95% flawless over a 17 game season?
Proof of you exaggeration.

There have only been 14 games such far.

In those 14 games (not 17 as you would have others believe) he's had one fumble, mostly fair catches, and no touchdowns.

That doesn't scream PRO BOWL to me.

If Turpin didn't have 2 TD returns in preseason, he wouldn't be anywhere near the Pro Bowl conversation.

Before now, I've never seen preseason plays affect regular season pro bowl decisions.

4th longest punt return of the regular season (52 yds)
8th longest kick return of the regular season (63 yds)

Most returners don't do both punt and kickoff returns so there is also added value in that. They see a guy that can do both instead of just one.

I knew about the 14 when I said it. I'm very confident that he will finish the 17 with just one fumble which is excellent. It doesn't scream Pro Bowl to you because you are obviously ignorant to the position. His peers who play and coach the game voted him in because they believe he is the best. They should know what they are doing.

Seattle kicker that made the Pro Bowl is 26-27 on FGs and it is a lot harder to kick in Seattle then it is in Dallas under a roof.

I feel like he uses the word "flawless" in a less literal manner than anyone else does.
I actually have watched return men more closely than what the average poster or fan does and see why Turpin was voted in by his peers. Turpin is very good at what he does. Just fielding the punts like he does isn't easy and he does a great job at it. Just fielding the ball is very important in field position and he has saved them hundreds of yards over the season just by fielding punts that would be very difficult for others to do so.

I agree he's done a great job. The other poster was making the point that, by definition, he hasn't been flawless, if only because he muffed one.

It’s almost like Steve Harvey announced the Pro Bowl players and got it wrong between Turpin and Brett Maher. Surprised Turpin made it and was equally surprised Maher didn’t.

Tell us who you really root for.

Cowboys 100%. However, you can't say that Maher got snubbed when another kicker had better stats in a stadium that is harder to kick in. I think Maher has had a great season and I believe he should be in the conversation but I can't fault anyone for Myers being chosen ahead of Mayer.

no, I mean you. Like what's the point of harping on something so trivial and being so disrespectful about it?

Again, ask the kid. The fan who can’t handle any criticism of the Cowboys or their players.

You talk about ‘harping’ when it’s him that’s in here arguing with anyone criticizing anything.

What return guy is better than Turpin? Turpin is very good. He pretty much fields all of the punts flawlessly and is excellent returning them as well.
Green Bay's Keiseon Nixon was much better at both KR and PR

More combined yards, better average in both KR and PR

Because fan voting makes up 1/3 of how to get in, Dallas always gets relatively more than smaller market teams.

Also, the best Kickoff returner is the Vikings Nwangwu but he does not return punts.

Exactly. Seattle's kicker was 26 of 27

Maher wasn't snubbed it's just a really difficult position to make pro bowl day 1 roster since they don't select a backup (it's one kicker per conference and that's it).
Yeah, to be fair to Maher, he has been asked to try more kicks of 40+ and 50+ than Meyers.

But even on the long ones, Meyer is 10-10 on 40+ and 6-6 on 50+
Can't argue with that

Meyer deserved it

I still dont see why they finish voting with 4 games left in the season....may as well call it the Pro Bowl for first 3/4 of the season only.

I remember when the "experts" on this forum ridiculed and derided the Maher signing this offseason.

Good times......
Good times.....

I think we were all a little skeptical to a degree, but so great seeing him have an excellent season!
