Brett Maher
22-26 FG 85%
22-23 XPA 96%

Dan Bailey (as of halftime Sunday night game)

14-18 FG 78%
18-19 XPA 95%

Maher has been better. So far, anyway. Knock on wood. Bailey has fewer kicks as he hasn't played in as many games.

To review...one driving reason the Cowboys released Dan was cap savings. Bailey was poised to make $3.4 mil. Maher is pulling down $480,000. That savings savings will flow forward into our available funds this offseason.

So far it appears the Cowboy FO and coaches got it right and the fans that were critical of the move are looking foolish.

..just saw Bailey miss the FG before halftime. So, thats another minus there.

Some still are. Any kick missed by Maher I hear we were stupid to get rid of Bailey. Does not matter that Bailey is not kicking like he once did

It's not even a competition, the Vikings may not even try another fg.

According to our owner, our GM always has a good year.

He's had plenty of sorry-*** years, but there's a lot they've done right lately:
-Drafting LVE
-Hiring Coach Richard
-Signing Xavier Su'a-Filo
-Promoting Columbo
-Trading for Cooper

And I tend to think other decisions are going to bear fruit moving forward:
-Drafting of Gallup
-Drafting of Connor Williams (who is going to develop into very good player, IMO)

And I think he's been smart to talk the team up and to talk Dak up (even if he later goes in another direction at QB).

Oh boy. More small sample nonsense.

"I knows percents! I can do statistics!"

Context is important people. The real difference here is missing a 56 yarder tonight.

Yep. Missed a 56 yarder and the holder bungled another one that was missed from 48. I do think Maher has been fine but I am worried that he’s wearing down as he seems to be leaving many kickoffs short and not by design.

I'd rather have short kickoffs and a 95% made FG rate than touchbacks and an 80-something percent number.....................

Well I think the point is that a dead leg could be the reason he’s started to look shaky on FGs as well. He was on fire until this recent stretch where he’s missing kicks, almost missing kicks, missing a PAT, etcetera. Even the radio guys are saying we have to hold our breath with every kick because there are some cracks showing. Yeah if he finishes at 95% there’s no discussion to be had. If he completely falls apart and costs them games then it’s a different matter altogether. Just have to wait and see what happens.

I agree. They have done some good things for sure. Bout freakin’ time they started winning some playoff games too. If I seem a little grumpy, that’s what patiently waiting for the Jones family front office has done to me, lol.

It's largely a wash right now. My worry is clutch kicks - that's where the money gets earned

Jerry might win Executive of the year again if we make playoffs. Lol
