I agree. Mahomes needs to settle down. I didn't see today's game, but the few games I saw the Chiefs lose he was trying to play hero ball. He's not used to losing so it's understandable. No QB is going to have success without the team around them.

More to the point his O line sucks and he knows his D sucks as well. So he tries to do too much. Just like Romo did when in the same boat. Its what QBs do, at least the ones that have the fire in the belly to win. You can see those like Goff and others who just lay down once the pressure is on.

Mahomes has had a few bad games this year.
7 games in and he's not in the top 10 right now in overall play.
That's a first for him.
It says nothing about him or his career....just that after 7 games this year, well, he really is not playing at his normal level.

Everytime a superstar QB has a bad string of games people love to ask if they are "exposed" or done. It's happened with Brady over and over in his career, Wilson has had to overcome it a few times.
I think Mahomes will be fine. That team is unraveling but they'll get their legs, if not this season, then next.

Guys get some $$$ start doing other things than football, have more than football going on. It gets to where they are in and out of the game, that changes things,

I agree.
Like baseball elite pitchers can have off years. Football is a little different in that the other players on your offense can really affect your game - but sometimes good QB suffer from physical issues or mental - as in just not seeing everything quick enough or responding to changes with other players involved due to injury or key losses/additions and chemistry.
Bottom line is Mahomes is definitely struggling this year - it could just be a small adjustment that makes or breaks a player’s performance any given year.
For Mahomes and KC i just don’t think this is their year. But they’ll figure out what went wrong and got the talent to bounce back.

Not having a O line or a D is why Mahonnes is struggling. Not exactly rocket science here people.

Just left a KC Chiefs site, all of them are asking.....what is wrong with Mahomes, is it the kid and wife, all those commercials, all that $$$$$$. There is no doubt he isn't the same guy.

Teams are playing us differently, worst excuse ever, look at the QB's that EVERYONE knows throws bombs so teams play them deep like they do the chiefs..... Guess what? they continue to throw the ball deep and continue to win. Examples the Raiders, they throw deep , everyone knows it and they play it that way but they still throw deep all the time and still make the throws. Tom Brady everyone knows throws deep and he continues to and it works. Its like using that as a excuse makes it ok. Just go back to how you were in his first year, throw it around and have fun. This isn't working.
Bottom line is our team isn't great but we have enough players on offense that we can be historically great again but it all hinges on Mahomes. If he gets back to playing like he did then we are fine but if he continues to play average this team is a .500 team at best. Mahomes is the great deodorant in the NFL. but thinking of madden its like Year 1 he was a 100, year 2 he was a 95, year 3 a 85 and now he is a 75. If we now have a average QB then we are cooked boys.
Something is wrong, its one or all of these but its the money, new child, wife, crazy brother or other things but he isn't remotely the same player he once was. No matter how bad our defense plays if we get fancy free Mahomes then we win if we continue to get this version of mahomes then its over...
We have lots of problems and I get we need better or new coaches, we need better players, we need better schemes but at the end of the day we need a better Mahomes.

I think people just overrated him. I'm not criticizing him. He's a really good QB. But really good QBs can seem God like when surrounded with a perfect situation. He needs to check himself and adjust. This is the first year he's really had to face this kind of adversity. He's trying to play hero ball and it's a problem. I actually think Russell Wilson is a better QB. But he's been in the league longer and has seen it all. Mahomes just needs to relax. He's looking reckless with the football at times.

Not so sure the Chiefs “get their legs back.” The NFL is about 3-4 year windows. The won a SB, went back the next year and it’s almost as sure a thing as can be had that they won’t be back thus year. Free agency and the cap constricts teams. KC will be good for a few years, but I doubt they’ll be in another SB anytime soon. They’re the Seahawks part deux.
