Make a little list

The guy that just got benched from Buffalo.. he was worse. Fitzpatrick on his bad streaks. Good fitz blows the doors off dak.

Let's see.. what about Mariota and Winston. I would probably take dak over them. Well maybe not Mariota.
I would put Dak in the same category as Winston. It's close.

Mahomes is not a rookie. But Right now I think most rookies will be below Prescott because they are rookies. Rookie QBs for the most part are bad. I am not saying they will stay at their level or move above Dak but right now I think overall Rookies will give you good witht he bad.
You're right, my bad. His first year starting. I think Dak is giving us the same thing the rookies are giving their teams right now, good with the bad and maddeningly inconsistent.

I would trade Dak, Zeke, and Beasley. LVE is going to be a building block
I agree. LVE is going to be special. Running backs are a dime a dozen and Dak...well, judging from this list we've compiled, is considered to be near the bottom of the league.

Lets take Rookies and backup's out of it.

QBs that are worse than Dak

Hmm.. It's hard for me to pinpoint any QB that we can safely say is worse than Dak right now. And they key word to that sentence is "right now". I don't know if it's the QB, the coaches, or the WR/TEs (maybe it's all three) but Dak and the offence is struggling so badly this year. Off the top of my head I would say Manning, Winston, Bortles, and Trubisky are all just as bad as Dak. But they are not worse.

It's weird, I see a ton of people that support and defend Dak no matter what, yet none of those people are willing to compile the long list of QB's that he is superior to. I mean, if he's as good as they say, they should have no problem compiling that list...right?

I agree, but his "Right now" extends back to last season. At this point it has been almost a full season of poor to average/slightly above average play. I agree with you that he is right there with those other QB's, although I would readily take Manning and Trubisky right now over him. Trubisky has looked better and better every week and Manning is operating behind one of the worst lines in the league.

Do me a favor. List all of the quarterbacks currently starting in the league that you believe are worse than Dak and why. Put it on paper with your name attached to it. Here's my list:

CJ Beathard, and that's debatable when you look at what he has for weapons and talent around him.
You should watch more games, my dude.

Giants, Raiders, Bills, Titans, and Bucs are the easy ones. Dolphins likely too.

im confused on this. I dont see the rookie qb we saw. I see a team trying to do with what they did wtih their last qb saying "ok this is what QB you are, this is what we want". I dont know, was he not that good from the get go? did they break him? this is not the best complilation of coaches here. we have a head coach stuck in the 101 course. we have an owner who has played the fans in thinking he wants to win. we have a son who just has to breathe and he gets a football team and he does nothing for it. we have nothing in the front office and not going in the same direction as the fan base.

where are things going wrong with Dak.

Go back to Dak's rookie season. The offensive line was much better. The WRs were better. The TE was better. The RB was better or at least seemed faster than what we saw last night from Zeke. Somehow, the Cowboys managed to turn a SB quality offense into a monumental weakness in just two seasons. IMO, it goes back to all the bad front office decisions like trading for Roy Williams and then overpaying him. The front office put the Cowboys in cap jail and they developed this strategy, out of necessity, of not signing free agents "because they are overpaid". That was an excuse because they couldn't afford to sign any free agents!

At the same time its hard not to wonder how a guy like Dez Bryant, who is only 29, could be over the hill already. Or how Tyron Smith is starting to look old when he is under 30 as well. The Cowboys have needed an overhaul fromt top to bottom for years but it is never going to happen because the owner is the GM and the problem.

So who is Dak better than?

Already edited above

Disagree on Tannehill and Carr for now, they have both had some great seasons but now seem to be trending downward after injuries. Manning is a proven commodity who is playing behind the worst line in the league. Allen is struggling as a rookie but has shown flashes, and has very little talent around him. Semi-agree on Titans and Bucs, I think he's as good as them but not better.

Eli Manning. Yeah, I said it.

Dak escaped a lot of pressure last night and made some positive plays. Those same type of QB pressures ends up being 2nd & 17 or 3rd & 20 with Eli at this point in his career. End of drives.

Dak is in his third year with not much talent at WR/TE. Give him time. That play when he escaped Watt and hit a receiver down field was a glimpse of his skill set. Especially considering that stage in the game.

So, so far we're at CJ Beathard, maybe. Really, nobody else?

Blake Bortles threw an interception off his own linemans helmet yesterday. I'm pretty sure nobody is worse than him. I'd put Tannehill in that discussion as well. I suppose you could lump a guy like Josh Allen in if you aren't factoring in potential.

That was a great play. His strengths lie in making plays when the play breaks down. Unfortunately, that's where most of his big plays come from and it's inconsistent. He's not good at viewing the field from the pocket and understanding who will come open and when. That's why he is always so quick to slide out of the pocket to give himself more time to find an open receiver. Scramble drills are his bread and butter.

Ha! That was pretty damn funny...
