Make a little list

So after 2 pages, here's where we're at:

Dak is "as good or better" than maybe 6 other QB's in the league. Raise your hand if you think that's worth re-signing him when his contract is up.

Which rookies? I'm sure you don't mean Mahomes or Mayfield?
mahomes is NOT a rookie hes a second year player..get that straight, people keep referring to him as a rookie, he sat and learned year behind Asmith..

Disagree on Tannehill and Carr for now, they have both had some great seasons but now seem to be trending downward after injuries. Manning is a proven commodity who is playing behind the worst line in the league. Allen is struggling as a rookie but has shown flashes, and has very little talent around him. Semi-agree on Titans and Bucs, I think he's as good as them but not better.

Carr quietly might be the worst QB in the league. He has such a good offense around him and he still sucks so bad.
Youre right on Tannehill, he is better than Dak.

Eli is proven to be absolute garbage. Another exaple of having great weapons and the offense being capped as a botton 10 offense because of awful QB play.

Allen hasnt shown me any flashes yet, and thats what I expected. Ill be shocked if he's a starter for his 2nd contract.

Marcus and Jameis are just Dak but with the concern of them missing games.

Forgot Bortles, thats an easy one.

Do me a favor. List all of the quarterbacks currently starting in the league that you believe are worse than Dak and why. Put it on paper with your name attached to it. Here's my list:

CJ Beathard, and that's debatable when you look at what he has for weapons and talent around him.
im not making a list way too debatable, I mean a lot throw for more yards but not average yards per pass and they still down t throw that many Td and more INTs etc..ie Bortles types..there are the top 16 than Dak and the rest..thats easier to say..hes very average right now but what other choices do we have? Go get Kap? put in White or Rush and maybe they will have alittle something like other rookies this year? most of the bottom 16 dont do any more or less and have their teams still losing not winning..we are are of our issues the Dak sux threads are starting to get out of control again, we are AWARE, nothing new to talk about and no reason to start 50 new threads each week on the same subject..i believe SL and maybe JG needs to be fired and someone come in and maybe utilize Dak and this offense better..

I just lowered my hand.

TBH, it wasn't up anyways.....

So you are saying that Dak is better than 15 other starting QB's. Who?

Dak is bottom five, bottom eight if generous. I don’t need a list to know he’s not the franchise QB we need. Surround him with really good talent and maybe he produces like a middle-of-the-pack guy.

Accuracy and reads will never ever be top ten.

I hear you, this is more of an exercise for his supporters to really sit down and put to paper who they really feel he is superior to and why. Because when you sit down honestly try to do it, it makes you realize that he is, at best, in the bottom 10 of the league.

Yes, I understand. I’m not disputing the value of the exercise. Nor the starkness of the conclusion. I like Dak the human a lot. Just don’t see it working out.:(

I agree, he's a good dude and he's easy to root for and I cheer for him when he plays well. That move he put on Watt last night and the pass to Austin was a thing of beauty and had me standing up shouting "Hell yeah Dak!" Unfortunately, those plays are few and far between.

I don't know if it's something that can be fixed or not, but his mechanics, ability to read and dissect a defense and know where and when to throw the ball, all seem to be average or below. His mechanics are garbage and he is predisposed to doing that stupid Quincy Carter hop-throw whenever he is faced with pressure. Time and again you see him lock onto one receiver and if that guy doesn't get open he ends up scrambling around to give him time to find another option. Haven't rewatched last night's game yet but did he hit a single hot read when they came with extra men?

I don't know the answer to that question because of the coach that we have.
Same coaches that were here his first year and that had us near the top of the league on offense every year under Romo. Enough of the coaching being the problem excuse. Execution of the plays is a bigger problem then the plays being called.

Fair enough, but I still don't want Garrett touching a QB like Herbert or Tua. I want a new coach before we get a new QB. That's my point, and the decision not to go for it on 4th and 1 was a prime example of this. Now, as for who's currently worse than Dak, possibly the 49ers chap, I reckon the Nate chap from the Bills would be below him. So, there's 2 there. Eli is CURRENTLY worse, imo.

Beathard doesn’t count IMO because Jimmy G is the starter. I think the only ones that you can debate might be as bad as Dak are Carr, Flacco, Keenum, and Bortles. Personally I think Dak is worse than them but it’s at least debatable.

Well, and I still think that Eli is CURRENTLY worse than Dak, and he's got WRs.

Dak quits looking for wide receivers the minute his first option isn't open. He then tucks the ball and tries to bowling ball his way out of the pocket. Most of the time he's brought down and the times he's lucky and escapes he can sometimes make a play. He's awful.
That is what Kapernick did and he is not in the league any more. Once his first option was gone he took off.

Bradford, Keenum, Bortles and Winston.

If Winston was mature, then no, but that's never going to happen.

Maybe Eli too.

I’ve seen Eli put his team on his back and win games without any running game, OL, or defense. Dak flat out can’t do that. Eli is clearly better than Dak even so far this year. Look at this year’s common games at CAR and at HOU. Dak put up 24 points and Eli put up 58. No comparison. The difference in quality of receivers doesn’t account for the disparity.
