In a make or break year for Dak and Moore, how is it possible for both having better seasons than previous seasons with one proven starting receiver to start the season?? The last few seasons, very good offenses in the league, especially Superbowl teams had atleast TWO top receivers.

That could be two very good receivers or one very good receiver and a very good TE. But you still have two very good pass catchers.

We only have ONE to start the season with. If Dallas doesn't start off strong against these very solid teams we open the season up with, ALL the blame will go to McCarthy, Dak, and Moore....

But the REAL blame should go to the Jones family for the lack of depth at the receiver position in such a crucial year. McCarthy, Dak, or K. Moore aren't responsible for Cooper and Wilson being gone. They also aren't responsible for NOT bringing in better receiver depth. Thats solely on the Jones family.

Where are yall at with this??

Have no idea what you are talking about. Dak is here for the next 7 years minimum. Moore, yah it might be a make or break for him.

I don't think so...he called some great games early last year....injuries to Dak, Zeke and poor OL play makes you change your game plan in a hurry.
He called great games early then totally abandoned it. I get injuries and whatever but since when does that stop pre snap motion and better blocking assignments?

It makes a huge difference....timing with those plays takes practice and when you have players coming in and out, it's not worth spending the limited time that you have.

But y wouldnt the backups know about the pre snap motion. I get not getting as many reps but they should know the checks and plays

They should, but you go to whatever strength you have available...defenses won't react to presnap motion with a bunch of backups like they would with Gallup, Coop etc.
They'll drop into a zone when playing a bunch of bums

Add McCarthy to the list. If the team doesnt win a playoff game, I think the coaches go and Dak becomes a June 1st 2024 cut.

Pre-snap motion is highly overrated by fans on this board. Good defenses generally don't care about that stuff.

This....plus motion can throw off your offense just as much as it does the defense. Everything has to be timed perfectly, and as your man motions, defenders are now moving as well, which many quarterbacks hate. I get that motion is all the hype with fans right now because some teams use it very well, but it's not a simple motion = results formula.

I don't see it as a make or break year. Certainly not for Dak.

I do, however, believe there will be an increased level of frustration among fans, and hopefully coaches as well, if the offense doesn't develop the kind of consistency that can carry a team into, and through the playoffs. The offense was pretty dominant and very consistent for 5-6 games to start the season - looked like it could play with anyone, any time. After that it kind of went in spurts with a lot of slow starts, stats built in bursts rather than through constant play over the length of games, and looking pretty lost against Denver and Kansas City. Most games the score was still looked decent, but it often took some late game scores to achieve that. That just doesn't create a sense that the offense is able to play as consistently as a team has to in the playoffs.

I hang my hat wherever I want. Where do you hang yours?
Well for one I don't hang it on bs stats derived from playing really bad teams for most of the year. Not when this same #1 offense went out and laid an egg in the playoffs against the 49-ers.

I'm telling you......:muttley:
I call them the Dak hit squad, like the men in black, dark sunglasses, say anything do anything and they will unleash the wrath, Daks bodyguards.
Most know and accept Dak for what he is and what he is not, its the price you pay for mediocrity, doesnt matter, all franchise QBs have pre assigned salary slotting and cap allocations, thats already part of the equation, no way does this league want to limit the ability to pay franchise QBs, so Daks cap hit should not even be part of the opinion anymore.
Its on Daks performance specifically now, Dak has lost a weapon on offense, a weapon in one James Washington.
If having Washington go down destroys this offense than we are in deeper poop than we thought.
