Fair enough, I know people see position value a bit differently on here. Like I said I'd be happy with either.
 
It appears our top 3 consensus here, in no particular order is Slater, Surtain, Parsons. I am fine with any of the three. I am bit surprised nobody said Horn, who could very well be in contention, even over Surtain.
 
Surtain. I think he's the 7th overall player in the draft, has the pedigree, has the production, has the athletic #s, has the bloodlines, has the coaching, played for the right school, played in the right conference, and Surtain is a cool name...ask me again and I'll tell you the same.

Don't most corners need help from the front 7 pressure in order to be effective?

Did DLaw, Gregory and friends just morph into the Steel Curtain?

Point being you can have a secondary full of Deion's but if the opposing QB has all day, you lose.

That's football reality.

Even a few of the more knowledgeable guys(I thought) shock me with responses of a corner's impact against an elite olinemen.

In Dallas?
A corner more important to team success than an olinemen?

You don't build your dee from the back end forward in the first place but that's an entirely separate conversation.

I would be thrilled with Sewell and Slater and fine with Surtain.I dont think Pitts is making it to 10 .

Why surprised, you yourself said you werent high on Horn. He looks like an over eager puppy, dump and run and despite being tall appears physically outmatched, though basing this on his play against Pitts.

Most know this. Many also realize that there are no front seven prospects that are worthy of being taken in the top ten.

At 10 would you rather take a very good prospect at OL, a very good prospect at CB, or a solid prospect along the DL. The DL prospects at the top of the rankings aren't that much better than the prospects you with see in rounds 2 or 3.

It sucks that there is no Chase Young or Joey Boss in this year's draft. But that's the reality. We aren't fixing all our problems with this draft. It's going to be a couple of more off seasons.

Appreciate the response. Your reasoning ties directly into my thinking on impact.

I agree wholeheartedly if a so called true War Daddy were available and his impact on a team's wins are equal to or greater than his elite o lineman counterpart.

Not a corner though. This team needs both more and better pass rushers in order to feel a comparable impact from the corner position as compared to an elite olineman's iinstant impact on winning games.

This includes Surtain.

Sidenote: And I'm a Bama guy.

Yours was the first intelligent impact comparison response I got and you nailed it.

He isn't physically overmatched, actually it's one of his strengths. Kind of like the yr prior when everyone was getting burned by Chase, Pitts done the same this yr in the SEC.
