Making Sense of the Frustration

I know everyone is frustrated with individual players and pointing the finger at certain aspects of the team. But to understand what is going on you have to look at the whole picture and analyze things long term instead of short term. Once you do that you will begin to see consistencies in the inconsistencies. Common themes of things going wrong but they continue to linger year after year.

The coaches continue to blame the players but if you evaluate the talent we know it is BS. Aikman said this team has very little holes and at one point or another has been tops on both sides of the ball in the whole NFL. It is the coaching people you don’t need to focus your blame on any other facet of this team. We are running the same defense and offense all season long with very little change. BP always said you need to put players in situations to succeed yet they keep throwing them into a scheme that continues to make them fail.

Just look at BP face on the sidelines, it is a face of someone whipped. Trust me, the players see and feel that message!! This coaching staff is getting owned week after week and they will not change. I don’t buy for one second that it is the players. Every single one of them has shown us the ability to make plays at one point or another. So we are supposed to believe all of the sudden they are so bad that we question them even being on the team???

The players are openly criticizing the offensive and defensive schemes. This is not a good sign because it is obvious the players have lost faith in the coaches and the coaches in the players. But the players have not always been consistent under BP. Meaning we continue to get key players each year but the results are the same.

I like BP but he is stubborn at times. We need a DC in the worst way and if he does not pull the trigger BP needs to go.

Let’s hope Jerry makes the right call.

Please... this team is gutless and heartless. Beside for Newman and Ware the rest of the defence can all die tommrow and nobody would care.

I don't disagree but where do you think that comes from?

It's the individual fault...It's easy to blame the coach. That's what losers and losing team do, blame someone else instead taking responsibility.

Harsh..................but true.
There's no "one" thing this defense does well. And to think this was supposed to be the part of the team that was a "lock" this year. All the questions were about the O-line, Bledsoe, T.O.'s impact, all offense.
Turns out that, while the offense was a no-show Monday, it's not that bad. Romo and Barber make all the difference in the world. And it's functional enough to win the NFC.
This defense however..............like a screen door. Can't stop the run. No pass rush. Long ball, short ball..........doesn't matter. Every opposing pass play, I'm holding my nuts. Big plays? Like a highlight reel.
This defense is the Achilles heel. It's not just Zimmer either. I'm not a big fan of Zimmer, but BP is a control freak and a defense nut. Everyone knows his M.O. Alot of blame goes to Parcells and the players.
There's still time (a few weeks) to figure this out and get it right. I know it's a stretch at this point of the season, but that's why they make film and still coach and practice...................even going into week 16.
We're in the tournament and will get a fresh start in a few weeks no matter where we're seeded. We're alive and hope is still there.
We'll see...................

So we have 9 starters on defense who are just heartless and gutless as individuals?

I don't buy it.

Teams generally take on the characteristics and personality of the coach. I think the gutless and heartlessness comes from Zimmer and BP and is picked up by the players. I don't think we have a majority of the defense who individually have no character and no heart.

Really? This is a team sport and we have better players now. 4 years of this is not player related so find a new excuse.
