As I’ve stated before, I WANT the team to add DTs bad. However, given that the starting CBs are likely to be Awuzie and Lewis heading into the draft, I think CB is the pick at 17, thus Fulton. Probably add another CB via free agency to compete for the nickel spot.

Hope it’s Kinlaw. Expecting Fulton. Really can’t say for certain until FA is done.

I don’t hate Fulton as a player, but that would be worst case scenario for me realistically (we could obviously draft a kicker, guard or running back in round one). Kinlaw, Delpit, Ruggs and even McKinney would be better options.

Soooo many corners in free agency to choose from if Jones is not resigned.

Rather have Corner Chris Williamson from Minnesota who could be chosen in the 2nd round

This is my big fear. The Cowboys will not sign Jones or Brown and then use their 1st round pick to sign a corner. The DL will be a disaster since Quinn and Collins will most likely be gone. The idea should be to minize needs going into the draft by signing free agents to fill in all the big holes in the roster. Then use the draft to pick potential playmakers on either side of the ball.

No one ever missed by building powerful offensive and defensive lines. Instead of drafting the best CB, draft the best defensive linemen and your 2nd tier CBs will look a lot better. Did anyone see what SF did to Aaron Rodgers? They took away his ability to scan the field for his 2nd and 3rd options. They made him throw to his first option almost every time. This means the DBs don;t have to cover their guys for very long.

Get a defensive line that can collapse the pocket like SF does and Awuzie, Lewis and Anthony Brown will be plenty good enough. Add a quality safety in the 2nd round or through free agency and the defense will be fine.

IMO losing Collins would be no big deal. He’s a slightly better version of The Golden Cock. We need THREE OR FOUR upgrades at DT. Covington and Hyder won’t be back. They’re JAG’s and played like it.

It's not the worst pick but I would not be giddy over it. We could absolutely do worse at 17, that's for sure.

If Jones is brought back, then the chances of a CB at 17 are probably zero.

I'm hoping for a DT/DE or WR. The one that drops the most. If none do, then I'd go to DB.

Wouldn't be surprised one bit if we let Byron walk...which I think we will. Also wouldn't be disapointed bc after Okudah it's either Fulton or the dude from FL as CB2 IMO.

Fulton has 2 years in a row with excellent PFF grades in the best conference in college football. Don't think he can be elite, but think he has a slightly higher ceiling than BJ. If he can post a sub 4.5 40 and a solid 3 cone I'm ok with this.

Sign me up for one of those beefy DTs in round 2 if this is what we do.

I agree about good options in FA, but if we let BJ walk who do we replace him with for cheap?

The reason teams take CBs so often in the 1st in the draft is bc it's a premium position and you can get a quality starter for cheap for multiple years.

All depends on who we keep and who we add. Kinlaw and Chaisson are the guys I like most at 19. If they’re gone then I look at Delpit or McKinney. And certainly not opposed to adding Ruggs. He would add an element that could take the offense to another level.

if Byron exits...Fulton or Diggs from Alabama make sense.
there are other DTs i like if we don't get Kinlaw at 17...Fotu,Benito Jones,Jordan Elliott.
a Fulton/Fotu combo would be solid.
i'm hopin' we can re-sign Byron Jones and use #17 on DLine or S.

For what it's worth I'm thinking the same!
