Malachi Lawrence makes PFF Rookie of the week team

All the rookie pass rushers basically looked like they were thinking too much.
IIRC Tank Lawrence didn’t look so hot his first 2 seasons out of Boise State and I’m still not sure Jerry should’ve caved to his holdout threat, just like he did The Ewok.

To many Zoners, clearly Lawrence is a bust. Since he was a 1st round pick playing against backups he should have had five sacks, three forced fumbles, and tipped a pass to himself and returned it for a touchdown in his 17 snaps.

( to those not sure this is sarcasm)
Key Zonemetrics include the following
  • Number of podcast episodes
  • Number of times the letter “z” occurs consecutively in any nicknames
  • Number of times the player said anything positive above the upcoming season

A score of “1” or higher in any category is evidence that the player should be cut immediately if trade demands for three first round draft picks are unsuccessful.

And why didn't he throw 6 TD passes and rush for 236 yds?

As I said in the video thread on him, he looked fine. Had Seattle not gotten the ball out quick he would have had several pressures. He was conscious of his responsibility and gap and he held it.

IMO, many of you aren't used to a well coached defense where players maintain gap responsibility.

So he was not as bad as some said then.
From the guys who know their stuff: Started off slow, but made good progress and was headed in the right direction.

Anyone who is saying he is horrible or great right now is best ignored.
