Malcolm Butler wants to be a Cowboy?

As much as I would love for this to happen there is no way it will.

Not going to happen and poor timing this year considering the talent being so deep at the CB position in this draft.

New England has him over a barrel. They aren't extending him and he's cheap they have no reason to trade him for less than the 1st Rd tender he would if somebody else signs him. Either he plays this year for cheap or another team gives them their first. It's really that simple. Then when he does leave, they get a 3rd for him anyways.

Also, I would absolutely loathe signing a Patriots player. I've seen way too many instances of players never being the same after leaving that place. The last thing you want to do is give up a huge contrac, a 1st Rd pick and have the player regress in a non-Belichek system.

Won't happen. We're in for the long haul of building the defense. Draft only equals at least 2nd years to have a legit defense. Best case scenario.

I love the player BUT we would have to give up our first and this is a draft when you want all your pics
If trade our 1st for him in a heartbeat. You are getting a home run at the CB position. Instead we could draft Maybe a home run

trading for him, it is more like a double off the wall that could be stretched to a triple....in the draft, he could hit a grand slam or strike out looking....

...enough baseball analogies.....

if NE approves are we allowed to talk with him?
if so and we can work out a LT contract and NE takes a conditional pick for next year (3rd to 2nd) I like it. With a year left on current deal I dont see any teams giving a 1.
If would also allow us to to cut Romo, look like we get something in return, and get over that mess

Find the next Butler, wasn't he a rookie free agent or like a 5-7th round pick? This is a deep cb draft, don't give up anything premium for anyone.

udfa
I still think hes worth next years 3 to 2 conditional but ur right its a good draft if we just go that way

This dude is getting drummed up like a lock down corner. He's not a true shut down guy. He's a solid player and better than what we have, but he's not worth the lockdown corner kind of money he wants and someone will give him.
