Twitter: Malik Davis receiving hip surgery on Saturday

It is fairly apparent that we do not have a RB2 at this time, right? Heaven forbid Javonte goes down with any sort of injury, the current guys we have are nowhere near RB1's. Do we not need to act sooner rather than later? A quick search came up with the following; I assume they are still unsigned?

Notable Available Running Backs
    • Joe Mixon (Former Houston Texans / Cincinnati Bengals)- don't think he is an option due to foot
    • Kareem Hunt (Former Kansas City Chiefs / Houston Texans)
    • Austin Ekeler (Former Washington Commanders)- healthy, but for how long?
    • Antonio Gibson (Former New England Patriots)- worth a shot
    • Raheem Mostert (Former Las Vegas Raiders / Miami Dolphins)- not on LAR? Worth a shot if not
    • Alexander Mattison-
    • Miles Sanders-
    • Cam Akers [1, 2, 3, 4]

that is the 2nd guy who suddenly need surgery ! 1st was tyler smith.
Just out of the blue, not even playing a game and lose 2 guys.

bring duece back and let him return kicks and punts, he might break one.

I wouldn’t panic much. I’m more concerned about special teams than I am RB2

Emari isn’t terrible and Izzy will get promoted. Likely means Mafah comes back to the PS
That's what I would expect, with us signing another player to the practice squad. Could be a vet or a player like Mafah.

Damn. Life is definitely not fair. Davis finally gets his shot to start the year on the roster with significant snaps and now his career is probably over.

Bo knows RBs don't come back from hip replacements.

Mostert is 34, have to think he's pretty cooked. I think out of anyone on that list Sanders makes the most sense.
