Yes, it was me saying that.... I'm surprised, and I'm sure he'll prove the league wrong for not claiming him on waivers.

I am with you that Davis has talent.. but like I said yesterday.. there are literally a hundreds thousand of guys with his body type who could average 4 yards per carry for a game or two in the NFL. We've seen it time and time again. Anybody remember Samkon Gado? Phillip Lindsay? Peyton Hillis? What separates that group from the ones who can actually play in the league a long time is possessing some singular special skill or trait. Blazing speed, prodigious power? Ridiculous vision and instincts. Wide receiver like hands.. Yes even 6th offensive lineman level blocking ability.. all fit into the mix. I think in Davis case the thing that should work in his favor is that he has a good all around game. He won't be great at any one thing but he can be good at a lot of them.

But but but, I was told there would be a dozen teams that are going to sign him, he's so valuable that every team passed on him in the draft.....
While peeps may believe in the myth that the Cowboys are the only team in the league that like their own,,, follow what most franchises do at cutdown time, there will be some movement, but most teams prefer trying to retain the time they have already invested in their own.
Retention is not just a Cowboys affliction.

Well, I'll take your word for it, but I am hoping Davis proves that he has more than we've seen.

Very glad that Davis made it. I didn't think he would clear waivers at all. However, he can be taken from the practice squad, so I'm still concerned.
If Dallas want him, they have his rights, and can make the appropriate moves.
The rule may have changed but believe that any team wanting to sign him would have to move him to their 53.
Please anyone, correct me on that if I am outdated and wrong about this.

You are correct that is how the rules used to be but they have changed so many rules with respect to the PS I have no idea how it works now. I remember you used to have to keep a guy on your 53 for a minimum of 3 games if you poached him from someone else too. They may have relaxed that one too in recent years.

I guarantee you there were guys on the 1999 equivalent of Rams.com screaming that Kurt Warner was way better than Trent Green and just as many guys telling those guys that "the professionals" know more than they do..

I like the dude glad he's back and the panic of losing him was all for not.

Saw some crazy posts here like I would take Malik over Zeke after watching 3 preseason games. Now we get the best of all worlds ;)

I'd have been delighted if Malik Davis got assigned to the depth chart ahead of Dowdle.
Evidently, he'll have to await his turn! Sigh. I know experience counts, but Jeeze!

Coogi, I luv ya, but come on man!! Zeke doesn't lose many yards very often. He usually plows forward and fights very hard for at least a yard or 2 if the line breaks down.

Let me break it down to you my love. Yes yes yes the line has been bad, but if you're a runner as you said PLOWS every time, how can you get yards that way. As soon as he gets it ball, it's plow plow it's always bent down, when you're like that you can't make anyone miss because you're trying to PLOW everyone over. This is some of the reason for the short gains. Kellen Moore can't stand it because to him every run should be 30 yards, so he says we can't run let's just pass pass pass

Wasn't me but I surely would running style is what would make us stop passing the ball so much. The guy avoids contact, ZEKE runs to it
