Short term IR, he would need to be on the initial 53, then moved to IR. Which means another player will have to be exposed to waivers. Which may not be too bad.
Not sure since he has not practiced yet, if he is PUP eligible. Would need to look that one up.

I think they PUP him thru the preseason which I think gives them more roster flexibility when they cut down the roster. Give him another month+ to recover and bring him along slowly. Maybe sometime in October or so, he's able to join the active roster.
