I believe this has been covered before but, I'll ask anyway..

I have spent a few hours trying to get rid of this but to no avail.

When I am reading random news articles, or even posts on CZ, certain words get hyperlinked and they become pop ups when my mouse hovers over them. I have put up with it for a while now (a few months) but am starting to get sick of it. Anyone have any idea how I can get rid of this stuff?

It's called "Coupon Drop Down" I believe.

I had the same problem go into your tools on your web browser and find the extensions and send it to the trash. I don't know what name it's going by but you should be able to figure it out. You might also check in your control panel and delete/change programs and look there too.

Did that. I had no extensions/add ons in IE, Chrome, or FF. No odd named programs installed either.

That's where I did. Sorry, which makes this even more frustrating is that I work in IT, kind of embarrassed to say that right now.

You might want to download malwarebytes and see if it can find it.

Done that all. I am using Avast.

I just ran adwcleaner which cleaned some stuff, we'll see if it worked.

It happened to me as well I did a system restore to a few days before it happened and it cleared it up.

I had a problem like that awhile back and I got rid of it by cleaning my registers.
