"In Vino Veritas" - In Wine there is Truth. In Aldon Smith's case "Nullus Vino Veritas", or in sobriety there is truth. I'll copy his quote below and let the CBZ software filter out the curse words.

Follow up question - what could Marvin Lewis and a year of conditioning do with Aldon Smith's physical talent?

Full Quote:

“We have a talented group of people,” Smith said. “I think it’s really important for everybody to embrace and take pride in what they do. We can be great. We’re going to be great, we just need to believe in ourselves. We just need to work a little harder. And it’s a culture.

“I’ll explain it as simple as this, we suck right now,” he said. “But you want to know what, we have the guys on my team, I love these guys. We haven’t made the plays we need to make, but we will. Stick along for the ride. **** happens. Bumps and bruises happen. But we’re going to get better. We lost a lot of key components that built the team. I’m just so excited about every single person that’s on this team and that we can make it work in the future.”

The final question Smith answered was about if he felt like he had to relearn the game after not playing the last four seasons.

“The most difficult part has been the ******** that you have to deal with,” Smith said. “It’s not the physical. It’s the ******** you have to deal with. By the ********, I mean, everything that comes along with playing the game. … I just want to be blunt, people deal with ****.”

Yeah this happened last week and most media outlets swept it under the rug. He thought he was on a podcast, hence the profanity.

He also sounded kinda drunk.

I lie it we wont get truths like that from coaches and owners. They tend to keep public relations staying neutral, getting all the VAGUE typical answers..

Culture = Jerry Jones = failure.

I'm completely indifferent as to whether they retain this guy or not.

If I hear they signed him to decent number, fine.

If someone else offers him a big payday, that's fine too.
I’d only sign him to another modest 1 year deal. Anything else and he can go elsewhere. Knowing our FO, they will make him their #1 priority this off-season and sign him to a multi year deal for more than he’s worth. They have to make it look like their gamble paid off big.

Personally, I prefer honesty over rehearsed and repeated sound bytes.

It's one of the reasons I found it hard to listen to Garrett the last few years he was here.

I never listen to that stuff expecting anything but the "Bull Durham" non-answers. But fans will complain if they hear that, then complain if they get an honest answer.

LOL, he just wants to get paid and he knows no one is paying him but Jerry

this is just more of the same

Looks like he wants some of Jerry's $$$ next few years, he's Jerry type of player lower price high risk unknown reward.

If you listen to the whole thing he sounded altered IMO. I was listening to it on a local radio station the morning after it happened and they were so convinced he was on something that they thought Jerry needed to have a talk with him.

I hope that’s not the case but he did sound like a space cadet.
