I sure hope they give us the origin of how Superman came to be! Because so many people don't know the Superman origin story and I think it needs to be explained!
Superman is practically an American mythos. I'm curious. What's a general description of those who don't know his origin? Young? Disinterested? Etc.

I'd say it might be my generation, born in the late 80s/early 90s. Growing up, I was one of the few who's favorite superhero was Superman.

My generation grew up with X-men on TV and Tim Burton's Batman in the movie theaters. They crave the dark, gritty, bad *** genre rather than the idealistic, hopeful attitude.

I'd describe any such person as having lived in a cave for the past few decades.

I think with all these comic book movies coming out these days, not to mention all the reboots, I'm starting to suffer from origin-fatigue.

Frank Miller created that seismic shift in the comic book industry with his 4 part series "The Dark Knight Returns" which I believe came out in 1983.

Yeah, but Superman Returns was released several years ago (2005 maybe)? Age or generational birth doesn't seem to me like the explanation. One can prefer one thing and still know about something else.

The idea that some do not know the Superman origin reminds me of the Jay Leno/The Tonight Show questioning people on street segments. And discovering just how little people don't know about commonly known information.

Well, that explanation is about as good as any, I guess. :p:

I hear you about origin fatigue. One example for me is Rogue from the X-Men movies. She had no connection to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants until after joining the X-Men. No previous fight with Carol Danvers where she absorbed her powers of strength and flight. No strong "maternal connection" with Mystique. I understand Bryan Singer matching real actress with fictional character, but he essentially declawed Anna Paquin (sp?) playing Rogue. Crazy.

The coolest thing I remember from the trailer was him breaking the speed barrier in rapid succession during this particular scene.

Much better than the one in the TDKR preview.

Wish that one was online to watch. Blurring in and out from a cell phone.

It's the best quality out there at the moment. At least the guy tried to constantly focus it haha.

He may only be producing, but even that slightly blurry trailer clearly conveys Christopher Nolan's influence. Summer 2013. Can't wait.
Did anyone happen to grab it? It's been pulled. I'll start searching for it on YouTube.
