I don't know if any of you watch this show on the Travel Channel but I occasionally get a kick out of it. Especially when he eats some kind of really hot food. I want to try all of the ones he has.

On December 2nd the show will feature Tucson, Arizona.

One of the places featured is a restaurant I have spoken of on this forum before. The link will take you to 4 posts I have made about it. It's a great Mexican Food restaurant called Mi Nidito. In those posts I mentioned that President Clinton had heard of it. Apparently so has the TV Show dedicated to these kinds of spots. If they have heard of it and aren't even from here, you know it must be good. If you ever come to Tucson, it is worth the effort, and the wait, to give it a try. If you can't wait an hour or longer for your table, Micha's is right down the street about a half mile.

The other place he is going to is within walking distance of where I live near the University of Arizona. It's a hamburger joint on 4th Ave. called Lindy's. Apparently they have an eating challenge there and he takes it. I confess I have never tried Lindy's but if anyone watches the show and wants a report, I will go try it and report back.

Why haven't I tried it? Mostly because whenever I am on 4th Ave. looking for something to eat I end up across the street and a little further south at a place called Bison Witches. They have a deal on 1/2 of any sandwich and any one of their bread bowl soups for only $7.50. You also get a bag of Sahuaro potato chips. You go home stuffed and it is outstanding food.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this in case anyone likes the show.

Simply one of the best shows on TV. I even watch the re-runs.

Ever watch Pawn Stars? Man, that's one fat family.

I hate spicy food......but I want to take my sister to Chunky's here in San Antonio. I want to buy her the 4 Horseman Burger and watch her eat it....maybe even video tape it.

They did one here at a place called the Bigfoot Lodge. He took on the Sasquatch burger and failed.

He's funny to watch when trying to eat insanely hot foot but I wouldn't try any of them. I like spicy but not hot.

It is a good show. It doesnt gross me out like the hot dog eating competitions or whatever. I like him and Anthony Bourdain a lot too.

I LOVE that show. I love to cook as well, so I steal recipes from it since I can't visit all the places he goes to. As a matter of fact, my breakfast for today came from the episode with the hash browns topped with seared veggies, sausage, and fried eggs. I'll be sure to catch the Tuscon episode.

Edit: Hostile, your link doesn't work for me.

It defeated me. But I am planning on trying it again at some point in the future. I think I went about it all wrong when I tried it.

I could eat the section on the left, and maybe the one in the middle, no way on the right, and all 3..no way. Wouldnt even want to try.

Haha and the funny thing is, the picture doesn't do it justice. I don't even think it looks THAT ginormous in the picture, but then when they put it out in front of you, its like your beaten before you even start eating it.

I can vouch for Mi Nidito. The BEST mexican food in Tucson.

I'm excited to catch that episode.

I have a weak pallet....I am the only one in my family out of my mom, dad, siblings, aunts and uncles that has never been able to tolerate spicy food. when I eat something really spicy, I lose my appetite. Maybe I should eat spicy more often, then I wouldnt be fat. BTW, I really cant stand temperature hot either. I have long let my food (aside from fries, mashed potatoes, and corn, soup) cool off and then eat it cold.

BTW, I have a major sweet tooth. I used to be able to down a whole batch of my mom's homemade ***** in one day. I can still pack on the sweets, but I need to slow down, before diabetes comes out of nowhere like Buster Douglass and knocks me the %*$# out.

I know almost all the farmers in that area. That is my neck of the woods. The chilis from the Luna family farms are the hottest, and therefore the best IMO.

I must have missed it. It doesn't start until 12:00 here. I guess that's the rerun.
