:starspin Go Cowboys, lets get this ship turned here and stop the bleeding.

We're only 2-2, why wait for another season.. we beat the Giants @NY on their Super Bowl victory thing, where the home team has won the past 15 games or whatever. Why can't we win @BAL, @CAR, @PHI, @ATL or vs NY? As long as we stay in the race of the playoffs we can still turn it around. We have a soft spot in our schedule after this test of games.

Lets correct the mistakes we made, learn from them and move forward.

It isn't about who starts strong it is about who finishes strong. All great messages from Mangini here, someone who is actually an intelligent football mind rather than a reactionary fan.

BTW - if we beat Baltimore the entire media and these forums are gonna crown us as Super Bowl champs. That is the way the media/fans work. The players in that locker room aren't sulking, neither are the coaches. They are trying to figure out a way to turn this season around as it is still salvageable.

I know some trolls are gonna laugh at me for staying positive. But this really is a LONG season. We have a LOT of guys coming back from injury, and this is a team that needs a confidence boost. As soon as we get a rhythm going we could become hard to stop.

Certainly, an intelligent football mind who has been following the team would understand that we have been making the same mistakes, not correcting them or learning from them, and not moving forward FOR YEARS NOW. Much easier said than done there, ex coach. If it were only that easy.

Like Jason is just going to walk in the door tomorrow morning and go:

"Hey guys, i just had a hell of an idea. Lets watch the tape.. because we all know watching the tape is important.. and simply take note of our mistakes, learn from them, correct them, and make sure we don't make them again! Genius, right?!"

:laugh2:

Eh, you're overrating the mistakes really. Romo made a couple over throws, our receivers had a few drops, that miscommunication with Romo/Bryant. If it wasn't for those we would have been in the drivers seat of that game.

The game was far closer than the score suggested, two or three plays (that are easily correctable) were the difference in the game. I'm not saying we're going to correct them for sure, but it is possible to turn this season around as of now. I am just saying before everyone dives off a cliff, breathe for a second and realize that a few plays go the other way and we win that ballgame. That is how the NFL goes, unfortunately that game got out of hand and was ugly as hell. But it was ONE loss in the standings. We are 1 game behind the Eagles, and as hard as our schedule is SO is Eagles/Giants schedule. We just need to keep pace and make a run at it.

If we are still showing signs of the same cowboys, we will surely continue to show them all season long....Maybe not in a row, 1 week we will look unstoppable, next we will just be like "Who are these guys?"

My only hope is, if we plan on making the playoffs(Yes i said it : ) we need to get it out of the way now, don't carry those bad habit's over in there.

The point is, we been saying this for years. Last year we had maybe 5+ Games, where we said "Hey if we just did this, or that"

We have to stop....and just do it.

I love being optimistic, I still kinda am. I just won't fool my self though, or sugar coat it.

Don't get me wrong, I hate this team and their tendencies. All I am saying is that the season is still alive. These threads about trading Romo are ********, save it for the offseason. These forums are ****ty when people are trying to start the offseason when we are 2-2, tied for 2nd in our division and 1 game behind 1st. We are also 1-0 vs our division. If we win out vs our division we are at MINIMUM 7-9. Is it impossible for us to beat Giants, Redskinsx2, Eaglesx2? No it isn't. Throw in a few games here and there and we are playoff bound.

Once again I'm not saying these things are going to happen. All I am saying is people are way too reactionary. We lost, get over it and move on. We can have these discussions about trading Romo or Witten or firing JG after the season.

I will guarantee you that the players and coaches are not "trying to figure out a way to turn this season around" but are totally focused on how to beat Baltimore, and that's it.

Unlike over-reactionary fans and media pundits, the players and coaches focus on games week to week.

Agreed, people are going over board.

Romo is still my QB, and he needs more help. With that being said. He needs to take care of the ball a bit better. I saw when he said "Screw that" and threw the ball out of bounds.

We need that sometimes.

We had what most would consider a bye after the Seahawks game and layed an Ostrich egg.

So here we are a few weeks later faced with another bye and a team that EXPECTS to pressure Romo into mistakes. Will the Cowboys be ready. I hope so. But history tells us they will do enough to lose the game.

Agreed...

Like i said in another thread. I think we will come out, and play inspired football vs Baltimore.

Won't say we will win, but we will like what we see, i believe.

For the same reason that you are calling are fans "reactionary", you arn't understanding what im saying here, either.

Im not referring to one game.. im saying this team has been making the same mistakes for years. Since JG took over we've been inconsistent, we take bad penalties, we play sloppy, unfocused, unprepared football, etc..

Its been happening for years now.. so you'll have to forgive most of us if we don't all of a sudden expect the light to go on overnight for this team with this coach.

It was not just one loss. It was the second loss that exposed the Cowboys as the same team that it has been for the last several years. This 2-2 record includes two total beat-down, gutless efforts, one badly played game that resulted in a win and one decent win. Three out of four games was sloppy, half-hearted efforts that resulted in a physical beating. These games showed a clear lack of progress and confirmed that this team still has a mental weakness. They may actually play good against the Ravens, but they will play down to the level of lesser quality teams and lose. I find it hard to feel good about this team. I have been fooled too many times.

Mangini is just angling for a job with Rob Ryan next year

MY thoughts exactly, ItI wouldn't bother me a bit if he took over though.

Rob won't be in a position to hire anybody. If he keeps getting outcoached, he may not have a job.

Take out the 2 pick sixes and we have a 20-18 game. it wasnt a beat down in the sense that the bears came in and drove the ball down our throats all night. Take the gimmes away and the entire dynamics of the game change. When all is said and done we are 1 game back in our division, with The giants 0-2 in the division and philly finally put togeather a good game. We have a top 5 defense with spencer coleman and Ratt missing a ton of time. So all is not over.

Who has he been outcoached by this year, exactly?

The Seahawks and Bears coaches. Did you like Wilson sitting back there with no pressure? Did you like Marshall playing catch in the secondary?
