Aussie police on manhunt after 93-pound mayonnaise heist

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/0...after-3-pound-mayonnaise-heist/#ixzz1yIIwksdc

Police were Tuesday conducting a manhunt for thieves who made off with 93 pounds of mayonnaise from a business in South Australia.
Two 46-pound tubs of the condiment went missing from a refrigerated warehouse in Whyalla, about 237 miles north of the capital city Adelaide on Saturday.
In a statement, police said they were puzzling over why anyone would want to steal 93 pounds of mayonnaise.
They urged anyone who heard of people making large quantities of coleslaw or potato salad to notify authorities.

It had to take some planning to jack 93 lbs of mayonnaise from two tubs.

LOLOL. No kiddin'. But hey, where's the crime? Public service performed, IMO. Now, if it was Miracle Whip... ! Now that's a horse of a different color. Yeah, I threw that grenade into the middle of the discussion: MW vs Mayo?!

Is there a bigger, more passionate debate to be rankled over in this entire world? Well, yeah ... you're right ... maybe so.:laugh2:

Miracle Whip here, but I haven't even touched that stuff in quite awhile.

Will of iron, I see. I envy you your steely resolve. Me ... ham, chicken, turkey or BLT sammich — must ... have ... Miracle Whip.

Mayo? I think not.

Let the Aussie lard bandits have it. I prefer my sammich fat have some ZING to it. Hey, those commercials really work. LOL!

Stuffs good! I can't eat it often.

I am a spicy mustard fan.

A delightful sammich condiment choice as well. Good stuff. Even MORE reason to say, "Mayo, you will not be missed." :D

...Undercover Brother?

I share the same opinion about mayo.

It gives me the shivers, but my wife loves the stuff.

What kind of math does Australia use where 46 + 46 = 93? Maybe they stole a pounds worth of little mayo packets too.

I have found that the best tasting mayonaise is made in Japan called Kewpie.

Kewpie (Q.P.) is the most popular brand of Japanese mayonnaise, advertised with a Kewpie doll logo. It is made with egg yolks instead of whole eggs, and the vinegar is a proprietary blend containing apple and malt vinegars.

that sounds interesting. do you know if that is the type of mayo they use in sushi? ex. spicy tuna, spicy salmon

I doubt it is the type of mayo used in spicy rolls. They don't have spicy rolls in Japan. The Japanese would never put spicy sauce in sushi. It is an Americanized concept which would never sell in Japan. I doubt it is used in sushi rolls here in the US because it costs more than regular mayo and once you spice it up you wouldn't taste the mayo anyways. So, I'm sure they use the cheapest mayo they can find for sushi rolls here in the US.

3 Months ago when I was in Japan, I had seared mayonaise salmon sushi(Aburi shake mayo) and I'm pretty sure it was Kewpie mayo. It was awesome. If you like sushi, ask the sushi chef to make this for you.

You can buy it at Wegman's or in most Oriental supermarkets. It is really good, better than any other mayo or MiracleWhip.
