Manipulating Playoff Scenarios

5 Spots are set. Giants get a wildcard and the Skins, Saints and Vikes look to be the ones who are fighting it out for the last one.

Obviously if the skins win out they get it. So, the power is in Dallas' hands to decide to who gets that last spot and possibly who they face if the #6 wins the wildcard.

A win next week will bring the Vikes to #6. A Loss would let the skins sneak in. Next week isn't all that important for Dallas but might be a little important if you care about who you possibly play.

What do you guys think?

The skins look to be on a hot streak so playing them might not be the best option. I would rather play the Vikings again because their QB is only half capable on a good day. I wouldn't mind Dallas playing for a win next week.

Brad Johnson hates Little Danny Snyderbrenner. Brad Johnson will definitely be playing for the win.

I agree, and articulated the same idea in another thread.

Tee it up and snap the ball and decide the game on the field.

You win to play and play to win, says it all.

No matter what... you cannot play this game hard with your starters just to eliminate the Skins... it could affect the big picture. If we win then sobeit... it not...then let the Skins in....

Gotta keep our eyes on the prize.... the Skins game has nothing for us.... nothing.

I'd rather play the Vikes as well. Take away the run and it's an easy win.

Which means we probably won't see them because they will lose in the first round to TB or SEA.

I think that you use this game to do a little more scouting on the Commanders, since I suspect that we will see them one more time. The Commanders are probably going to get in, and if they do they should be able to handle the Seahawks in Seattle.

This game is a unique opportunity to rest our starters and play our cards close to the vest, while watching the Commanders pull out all the stops and show their cards. Let's learn something on Sunday and perhaps prod and poke with a few trial balloon plays of our own in preparation for the divisional round.

I was just thinking about this as well. We have a good chance to get some nice advanced scouting of a potential playoff opponent and not to really have to show anything in return.

Definitely an interesting situation.

Here is what I think will happen.Washington gets in,and loses to Seattle.I think the N.Y.Giants will defeat Tampa Bay in the other wildcard game.In the 2nd round,I believe Green Bay will defeat Seattle, and Dallas will defeat the N.Y.Giants.Then Dallas will take out the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game.

Id actually rather not face the giants DL again. Even thought without shockey I think Dallas would stop their offense completely, I don't like their DL.

Man, the Giants without Shockey? We'd eat them for breakfast. If we face them, we're on our way to the NFC Championship game. No doubt.

I'll bet the Pack counted their chickens before yesterdays game too, & were shocked when the totals didn't add up in the end...

I just want our offense to return to the way it was playing several weeks ago when we routinely point up lots of points. We haven't done that lately for a variety of reasons probably including other teams playing us differently. We really need a healthy TO and Terry Glenn. We also will need big time play by Romo like we saw earlier. Love Romo but he's been missing some passes he normally makes.

well on a good note........we have still swooned in December, at least statistically, but we are 2-1.

I am glad we have had a tough December.....it builds character heading into the playoffs.

I have said this for the past 2 months and I will continue to believe this......the only team that I am afraid of beating us is the Dallas Cowboys. If we don't beat ourselves....I don't feel that anyone can beat us, not even the mighty undefeated NE Cheatriots.

Go out with the backups and try to injure as many of the Skins as possible and if you win it's just gravy.
