Every year at this time I start this thread and every year there are many who disagree.

Well, I'm sayin' it again.

He threw some REALLY bad passes today.

How many times have I said this on this board. Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning when you judge them on Tangibles as well as Intangibles.

Brady had a bad night last night, but he has proven he is a winner.

When Peyton plays a great defense, he gets shell shocked.

Everyone said Peyton just neeeded a defense and he had one this year.

I agree. Seems to run in the family so far. Maybe because the old man was never in a big game.

not many will disagree this time.

what's amazing is that the great AFC is now limited to an old ncf rethread in plummer and a trully amazing 2nd year guy in roethlisberger

In all fairness to Manning (and I still say he can't win the big game), the Steelers played him EXACTLY the way you have to.

Get an early lead, then stay in his face.

Pefect game plan.

...field command and resiliency I have to give the honours to Brady. He's still in my meagre opinion the best QB in the league.

Yep, with his Super Bowl rings hanging on his wall....

And let's be realistic here, that NE team was banged up and outgunned and everyone here knows it.

Plus they were on the road and it is hard to win on the road not once but twice in the playoffs.

Brady > Manning

Period...end of subject.

They also play a 3-4 same as New England. He has trouble with that defense.

I respect Manning a lot but man there really was no excuse for them not to win but at the same time i think they were one of the most overrated teams in NFL history and if you look at their soft *** schedule you could see that they played real sorry teams

The team was just outcoached. San Diego exposed them, and the coaching staff never made adjustments. The Steelers just did what San Diego did to them. The defense also didn't live up to expectations. The Steelers just pounded them and they didn't have a response to it.

I don't think it's Manning's fault at all. He didn't play badly, and when they played desparate they were able to move the ball quite easily.

And what you completely do not say in this post is how he was under pressure almost every time he went back to pass.

I do not like the big drama he puts on before the ball is snapped sometimes but he is a great QB and I will tell you this....NO QB coulda done any better with the kinda pressure he got.

Manning did not have a good game but I do have to give credit to the Steelers D for just gettin pressure on him almost every down.

I disagree a bit.

The Defensive Coordinator was EXTREMELY aggressive against Peyton Manning. Bringing at least 4-5 Guys on every play.

He saw it the way I saw it.

What is the difference between Manning picking your Soft Zone apart for 30 to 40 yards

And...

Picking you apart when you go Zero Coverage.

I rather get beat going Zero Coverage and Blitzing the crap out of Manning, then just sit back there in a Soft Quarters Zone, rushing 3 Lineman and dying a slow death.

The Steelers' DC got very passive in the 3rd and 4th Quarter and allowed Manning to comeback. But at the end, he remember what held them to 3 Points in the 1st Half and started blitzing him again.

he was still about 22-38 for 290 yards. Not to shabby to be laying on his back most of the game and at least he showed some balls going for it on fourth down, more than I can say for his head coach.

I hate to say something bad about Dungy with everything he's had to face, but his history clearly shows he doesn't seem capable of taking a team to the championship.

You have to feel bad for him. I suppose he could do it next year.

Huh? I said stay in his face. That means doing just as you pointed out. We don't disagree, we agree.
