First off. Arch isn't going to declare for the 2027 draft. He is going to use every bit of his college eligibility and I love it. I wish Vince Young would've stayed one more year ,Texas would've gotten another national championship. And 2nd of all its most likely going to take the first overall pick to get him. At the pace he's progressing its no doubt he will go first overall regardless of what the anti Arch bots say.

Right now that would be the smart thing to do. Get more playing time and more refinement in his game. Inconsistency has been his problem. You cannot be meh for three quarters and be a top NFL QB

Physically, I think Arch is 1st round QB material. He's got the size, he's got the arm, he's got the wheels. Compare him to Julian Sayin last Saturday - Arch smokes him from a tools perspective.

Game-wise, Arch doesn't even look like a starting-caliber SEC quarterback half the time. It's easy to see why Texas's staff played Quinn Ewers over him - he had a lower ceiling, but his floor was way higher.

Arch's last name and his tools will get him drafted early, but I don't think he belongs anywhere near the 1st round conversation until he puts together 4 good quarters in a row. Look at your last 3 top QBs... Mendoza, Ward, Caleb Williams - their games in college were incomparably superior to Arch's. Arch in a good half plays worse than Caleb did in a bad half. And I don't think Ward and Mendoza ever had a bad half in their last college season, those dudes were killers.

I think overrated is too strong a term. He is obscenely talented, but he is a long road ahead of him to be in the same breath as his uncles.

One of the biggest things I see from him is he is extremely slow in his reads sometimes and he loses his spacial awareness which ends up leaving him in a bad place or in a place to take large yardage losses.

This obviously is a big year for him. He absolutely can develop into that elite, sure fire, #1 type pick QB.

But if the draft were today, the skill set alone isnt enough. He's just way too inconsistent. For as good as he looked in the last 15 minutes or so, he looked rather pedestrian at times in the first 3 quarters.

You can see the skill and athleticism, especially when on the move. But then as Herbie pointed out a few times, he does things that a guy of his caliber shouldn't do/miss. I don't think it's particularly obscene to suggest there are better "passers" in college right now than Manning.
