Many things Evident - Garrett Sticks out!

I watched Norv Turner attack the Cowboys Defense and keep them off guard yesterday. I watched Garrett do nothing to attack the Chargers defense and nothing we did took them by surprise or made them worry.

Garrett has no feel for the game and is an Execution ****. He believes he can execute a win in todays NFL but he does not realize that he does not have Irvin, Aikman,Smith and Novacek and most importantly the Oline that they did it with.
Even then Norv knew how to call a game!

Case in point on Garrett (and I really like the guy but) We are running the ball down their throats and we don't throw one single play action in on the drive where we stall out on the goal line - not one. We were getting 7-10 yards a clip on the run and he still does notrun a play action.

We had two of the easiest TD's in the last two games from the Cowboys that I have seen all year and guess what they come on..... and yet Garrett rarely uses them. We did not throw the ball deep 1 time yesterday. We did not throw 1 single pass to a RB yesterday. We did nothing to keep them off balance!

He really truly stinks as an OC and I hate saying that but I believe it is true no matter what kind of numbers this team has put up, they could be so much better and yield many more points!

Garrett was clearly riding Sparano's coat tail's in 07'. Ever since Sparano left it's never been the same. Jerry let the wrong coach go.

Play-action is not in Garrett's vocabulary... I've been saying it every day, all day... Now people are beginning to realize it... It isn't about run-pass ratios, it is about making defenses second guess... The San Diego defense is average and was banged up... 10 freaking points...What Norv did on that last drive was textbook Cowboys of the early 90s...

Hopefully Jerry will see it. The whole "loyalty" thing is worn thin.

We need coaches that know the game.

I don't think he's terrible anymore. But he definitely isn't very good.

Throwing aside what he 'should've done here, shouldn't have done' there (because really, we're all saying this in hindsight)--the general picture that I see is that he's too predictable. When he runs, that's all he does. When he throws, that's all he does. There's very little mixture between the two and practically no play action.

Yep, who on this board did not know ahead of time on 4th down that the ball was going to Marion as the FB. I told my son who was getting the ball and I know SD knew he was getting it.

That was so obvious it was not funny.

What bothers me is that we NEVER see our WR's open down the field, never.

Play action passing would help with that. But Mr. Shotgun doesn't believe we need to try to fool the secondary with such gadgetry.

My wife even knew that and she have watched maybe 3 games with me this year.

i am done with shotgun red, cant wait to see him kicked out by our new head coach. If he has any dignity he would leave voluntarily.

Clean house, start fresh...Make a strong pitch for someone like Cowher

I like Cowher but I think I would rather have Shannahan. I don't think Cowher would be good for Romo, but I think Shannahn would be. I don't know who you get to run the Defense but I am on board with Shanny

Garrett's 4th-And-Nothing failure was no different from Switzer's Load-Left failure. Rember that bull****? It was Switzer then and Garrett now. Bozo the Coach has been reincarnated!

Rember that early game (Denver?) When Garret called the same fade route consecutive times? It didn't work then, and Garrett's same philosophical approach to play-calling still does not work, as he so kindly demonstrated once again.

Defenses have come to know that once he runs a red-zone play that they initially stop then Garrett will stubbornly go back at it. Even the Chargers LBs said that after the game. They knew what was coming and called specific defensive alignments to stop it.

.

hahaha didn't that happen in another game this year too? my memory isn't so hot, but I seem to recall the Bronco's game with the same play over and over, this game with the same play over and over, and another one somewhere in there too...

Certainly seems to be a problem with him. Fails once, try it again; fails twice, try it again; fails three times....
