This is really funny, not even on a team and got suspended !
Also he will now lose his guaranteed money from cleveland !
I just wonder how they tested him, or if he just missed the test, which counts as a fail.

Johnny Manziel is a free agent and a comeback seems like a tall order for the former Heisman Trophy winner, and it got a little more difficult on Thursday with news that he is facing a four-game suspension if he ever comes back.

According to TMZ, the four-game suspension for Manziel is for the 2016 season and would not carry over to 2017 if he sits out the year, which seems like a likely scenario, regardless of if Manziel wants to play or not.

The 2014 first-round pick was released by the Cleveland Browns in March and the new suspension could mean the remaining guaranteed money on his contract with the team is voided.

Manziel is currently on trial for a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from a domestic violence incident in January.

The quarterback spent the beginning of last year in rehab, but has spiraled since the end of the 2015 season. NFL vice president of operations Troy Vincent said earlier in the week that Manziel has "gotten out of control" and the league is doing its best to reach out and help, but he hasn't been returning phone calls.

On Wednesday, Manziel told TMZ that he intends to sober up and make lifestyle changes beginning on July 1 when he gets back from a vacation in Mexico. He also intends to train "like crazy" to get ready for an NFL comeback.

LOL one last party and I am going to straighten up !! he really is in a dream world.

I thought the same - how can you get suspended when you are not even on a team ?

I don't even have a reaction any more when I hear news about him, its just gone so far beyond anything I would have imagined.

when every story about someone starts out "according to TMZ" then it has nothing to do with sports

He isn't a NFL worthy QB now. Sitting out a year won't make him any better.

Well it just shows how far out of touch with reality he is.
He would have to stay straight for 1-2 years and workout, just for a team to give him a shot, and even then it might not happen.

It was funny that he wants to party in mexico first then straighten up !

No one is going to believe he can stay straight now.
His party binge of 6 months cost him at least 10 million dollars in future earnings, and now past earnings too.

The NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement and associated policies are binding for' "All professional football players who have been previously employed by a member club of the National Football League who are seeking employment with an NFL Club."

It would be extremely impossible for anyone to escape the generalization of that language. Now we're waiting on the commissioner to tack on more games for his violating the personal conduct policy. Goodell's is probably waiting for Manziel's trial to wrap up first.

Same thing happened to Joe Randle. Got suspended after the Cowboys cut him.

This reminds me of what my Father says after a big meal: he's going on a diet until he gets hungry again.

I dont think any fan would want that now, or any team will take a chance on him.
I might take him , and work him thru camp, and put him on PS knowing no one would claim him, and if he could stay straight,
have a new attitude, and get in good shape, then I might play him.

But I dont think he can stay straight for long. He needs to see a psychiatrist.

exactly and johnny will get hungry again.

So now I wonder, was he high all during college ??
Did A&M help him pass drug tests??

Something smells here cause he didnt just become the addict, it is more like The nfl and regular testing you cant cheat on
were just more than he could handle.

Is he still practice squad eligible?

Sumlin runs a very loose ship in College Station.

Johnny was in trouble before he ever played a game for A&M. His troubles go back a ways.

I don't think he has to have a problem with an illegal drug to get suspended. Alcohol abuse qualifies I believe, so there didn't need to be any cheating on tests.

I dont know on the practice squad issue.
From what I have read an even his own dad calling him a druggie, he apparently is doing illegal drugs, and I imagine he started that
in college.
Colleges cover for any player they need on the field. football 1st, everything else takes a back seat.

I don't see him pulling a Robert downey JR.

At the very least he is gone from football.
Worst case. Just gone.
