heres hoping we get a 7 rd pick

1 Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri 6-3 #295 -

The game tape stills says he is a dynamic interior rush presence with exceptional quickness into the gaps, and that makes him awfully appealing to Monte Kiffin. The new Dallas DC built a Super Bowl champion defense around a player eerily similar to Richards in build and style, Warren Sapp.

2 Eric Reid, S, LSU, 6-1 #215 -

Reid is strictly a strong safety for the NFL until he gets better in pass coverage. Reid will be a good run-defender who can fit as the eighth man in the box

3 Alvin Bailey, OG, Arkansas 6-3 #315 -

A naturally massive man, Bailey shows impressive quickness off the snap and can knock defenders off the ball in the running game. He's athletic enough to handle blocking on the move - a requirement in an Arkansas scheme that often requires the guards to pull and block at the second level

4 Nico Johnson, LB, Alabama 6-2 #250 -

Physically imposing defender with good overall musculature and weight distribution. Has a thick lower body which aids in his anchoring against blockers. Seems to enjoy the physical nature of the game, aggressively taking on and shedding blockers at the point of attack. Appears most comfortable inside, showing the ability to make subtle side-steps to slip into gaps and meet backs at the line. Forceful hitter whose core strength is obvious as he grabs, twists and pulls ball-carriers to the ground. Gives a strong jolt to potential pass-catchers to knock them off of their routes and shows some initial flexibility and quickness to run with them. Hasn't missed a game over his career due to injury

5 Knile Davis, RB, Arkansas 5-11 #230

Scouts like Davis' size, breakaway speed and soft hands out of the backfield. He's worked hard to become a reliable pass blocker and is highly respected by his teammates and the coaching staff, earning the captain role as both a junior (2011) and senior (2012).

6 Joe Kruger, DE, Utah 6-6 #269

Tall, long body type with filled-out frame and good bulk throughout. Good natural strength with the hand and arm use to shed blocks. Closes in a flash like a bull seeing red. Quick feet and smooth movements in any direction. Good eye use and awareness to recognize and anticipate the action. Strong bloodlines, work ethic and football character. Plays with intensity and top-shelf effort.

7 Dax Swanson, CB, Sam Houston State 5-10 #200

He was as close to a shutdown corner as I’ve seen at the FCS level, showing great instincts, quick reactions, and a passion for stickiness in coverage that all the great ones have.
I’ll quote a regional scout who saw the Bearkats live about Swanson: “That kid is a baller, man.” I’ve seen four of Swanson’s games, including one in person, and I concur

Richardson: Fine with this pick

Reid: You just said hes strictly a SS.. why would you take him..? we are looking for a Free Safety.. I would be beyond upset if we drafted him here.

Alvin Bailey: Great pick.. Very underrated player

Nico Johnson: Good pick

Knile Davis: Good pick.. Good value here in the 5th

Joe Kruger: Fine with this pick I guess.. Other guys Ide rather have though

Swanson: Good pick.. Wouldn't have a problem with him in round 7

Yes we are looking for a free safety. That is the reason they let sensabaugh go because they wanted to start fresh at that position. We are looking for someone who can play single high safety and play "Center Field" Reid I don't think is a good option there.

Swearinger and Cyprien are both much better options than reid.

Whether or not you are counting on Church, the cowboys are. Strong Safeties are much easier to find because they don't really require ball skills or great movement ability.. You could get a ton of strong safeties in this draft in the 5th/6th/7th round. Guys like Vaccaro, Cyprien, Swearinger are guys I think are good fits for what we are looking for safety-wise

Cyprien is listed as SS

Yes but many teams project him as a FS. He has the coverage ability and physical tools to make a smooth transition

Lol you are changing the entire conversation.. are we talking about safeties in general and their ability to flip from SS to FS or are we talking about Eric Reid?

There are a ton of Strong Safeties (Adrian Wilson, Mark Barron, Barry Church, Yeremiah Bell, etc ec) Who cannot make the switch to free safety and there are some that can't

In my opinion Eric Reid can probably play both but my initial comment was responding do you saying he was strictly a strong safety and i was asking you if you thought that was the case why would you want him? the team is looking for a free safety who can cover ground. I don't like Reid as a prospect at all.. If you do that's fine but at this point I don't even know what it is you are trying to discuss
