If other people (Bennett) used Twitter like this, it wouldn't be a problem and I would love if more people used it like Colombo.

I am not saying its the right thing or defending gankster speak but people should be free to be who they are, diffrent strokes for diffrent folks you know.

Why does it matter? Bennett just said on his ustream people make such a big deal out of stupid stuff like that. He said "I've been at football and talking football all day, why would i wanna come home and keep talking football".

He should be free to talk however he wants. BTW, I am following both of them, and I think both of them are great!

Wasn't intending on criticizing Bennett, love 'em great player, but he acts more like OchoCinco than a player fighting for the 2nd TE spot on a team.

He is a kid, he is all of 20 somethin years old. He is enjoying his life as a football player, it was a childhood dream to accomplish that and he did, so now he is living it up. Watching his ustream he is an extremely funny guy. He and ochocinco both have ustreams and really enjoy what they are doing as pro football players. Let em have fun!

lol yeah, I think he was just talking to Mariah Carey a little while ago. Its awesome how he answers all the fans questions. People were asking who his fave teammates were. I think he said it was Felix, Mike Jenkins and a couple others. He even had a convo with Mike on the phone which was cool! He also tells you how the team is doing in practice, etc. Pretty cool!

Only he isn't fighting for the 2nd TE spot on the team. Phillips has been playing the FB postion/H-Back or F-Back in some circles.

And at the same time it kind of does matter. When you represent a team and should full well know that most fans who talk to you want to know about the team and football and should expect it.

If fans discuss anything else it's only because they want to find out more about you and the team. They're rarely concerned about what shoes you wear or what cereal you eat.

Bennett is quite a bit younger than Columbo and if you are actually interested in getting some info about the team or interacting with a member of the team, you'll probably get something far more interesting from Bennett than Columbo, and there's nothing wrong with that either.

U just have to realize there's a segment of this fanbase who relates to "gangsta speak" as u call it and having a variety of personalities represent the team helps to keep everyone involved. No need to alienate any portion of fans because they cannot relate to a certain player. Variety is the spice of life & it's hard for anyone to please everyone! I've never used Twitter but I imagine certain players have certain audiences...

I agree, he actually does provide insight on practices and such on his ustream videos, and he is a rather comical guy. He is like the class clown. I love Tellus and thinks he has a TON of upside!
