Is #1 on my wish list right now... Possibly the best player in College football..

Anyone else down with this over guys like Peterson or Ingram?

I'd like to start building from the inside out on both sides of the ball and I doubt Igor is brought back.

If our defensive scheme changed and we allowed our DE's to attack more often then maybe. Right now our DE's are just space takers who occupy blocking and I don't want to waste a high draft pick on someone for that.

Patrick Peterson or Bust!

I don't he's anywhere close to being the best player in college football.

I think he's been way overhyped.

Guys like Drake Nevis and Nick Fairley have way outproduced him this season.

Besides, I think his best fit is in a 4-3, IMO.

What's the big deal with this guy? I've seen very few Alabama games and even less Auburn and haven't focused on either player, but can someone tell me why Dareus is better than Fairley? Drake Nevis isn't built for a 3-4 so I understand that, but Fairley looks the part more than Dareus

I have watched both play and Fairley seems to be more of an impact player. Dareus had little noticable impact in the LSU game.

I was reading the other day that why would Dallas draft him - something about him being a DT not a NT

hell if we want a NT

Kendrick Ellis, NT, Hampton
Height: 6-5. Weight: 340.
Projected 40 Time: 5.41.
Projected Round (2011): 3-4

Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor
Height: 6-4. Weight: 355.
Projected 40 Time: 5.50.
Projected Round (2011): 3-5

just sayin

I think he was a better player last year. He may have had an injury or two this season thats he's had to work through, but honestly he's been almost invisible in several games I've watched.

If we do end up drafting in the top-10, I wouldnt take him.

If a d-lineman is dominate
I would love to draft the next richard seymour in his prime or the Ravens Halota Nata(sp?) or even Suh.

but if Patrick peterson test well at the combine then I would also love to pick him up.

I like Dareus, but I think the best D-lineman in the draft will be Da'Quan Bowers when it's all said and done. He already has 13 sacks and 20 TFLs this season, and he is a physical freak. #1 rated defensive recruit in the country coming out of high school.

I've watched Patrick Peterson numerous times ... I don't get it. Stiff hipped CB who can't turn and run with fast WRs and gets burned way too often for a supposed Top 5 pick. Cowboys have spent too many draft picks the last few years drafting finesse perimeter players, they need to ugrade both lines which have been ignored for 3 years.

I don't agree at all reguarding PP but that is what makes the draft a fun process. I think Bowers may be the most talented but not motivated enough to live up to the hype until recent.

I really don't get where the lazy label comes from. He's only a junior and he battled a knee injury for most of his sophomore season, including having to sit out three games.

I guess he's "lazy" because he wasn't getting double digit sacks as a freshman, or something.

If we were a 4-3 D then I would be fine selecting him.

Exactly.

A lot of these guys coming out would be much better suited in a 4-3.

Yeah, I only see him as a 4-3 guy.

FWIW, Bowers had another sack, an INT and played great run defense against Florida State on Saturday. I'm not sure if he was officially credited with any TFLs, but he had 3 or 4 tackles for no gain.

He seems to have the athletic ability to play OLB for us but I believe he's a 4-3 end all the way.
