Questions:

1) do you really think "moving on from Dak" involves only those two plays?
2) Is it really "obvious" the team believes in him?

(you saw the crap Micah got for speaking his mind. Others are not as brave)
What exactly did Parsons say that was directed at Dak. I missed it.

I think this is what they are talking about ........some seem to think it was shot at Dak.

That I saw and do not think that was a shot at Dak. Not really sure what he means but seems like more of a shot at the front office. They had a chance to sign Dak to a cheaper deal in his rookie contract. Instead JJ liked having a QB that was playing at a top 10 level for peanuts. But what did he do with the savings. Did he go out and sign a bunch of talent to put around him. I don’t count giving up all the WR and then giving up a 1st round pick for Cooper. We have drafted talent around him. But no big splash. Guessing he was using the savings to pay off big contracts he had to pay. And Parsons said something about when it’s his turn he won’t be giving discounts. And he won’t be playing if they try to pick up that 5th year option. I see a potential Elliot hold out coming. Especially if he had a bounce back year next year. This year started out good but is ending with him acting like he is Lt.

No one really talking about Dak's contract right now but trust me, it's coming real soon. His $49M 2023 cap hit is the straw stirring pot. His contract will not have any more guaranteed money after the 2023 season. The impact has backed Jerry and Stephen into a corner with only 2 options.....
  • Option No. 1.... Admit they are/have lost confidence in Dak by NOT doing anything but eating the $49M cap hit, leaving their options open to release or trade Dak after the season. Yes, he has a no-trade clause which gives him a bit of leverage on who/where he's traded. BTW, nothing to stop them from doing the 2nd option ( extend and/or restructure) AFTER the 2023 season if Daks lead the team to let's say NFCCG and/or Super Bowl.

  • Option No. 2....This one is really simple, restructure/extend the current contract to lower the impact of the 2023 cap hit. But this would close the trade/release options after the 2023 season. In fact, it would more than likely add more guaranteed years/money ( probably 3-4 ). The bottom line, this would basically guarantee Daks is on the team next few years. To be honest, this was the plan when the initial contract was signed. Aikman and Romo's contracts were structured the same way.

Fish does a good job explaining..........

Dak Prescott: New, Richer, Longer Cowboys Contract Coming?

The Cowboys essentially have two routes to take regarding QB finances. Brace yourself, because March 2023 might be the time when "a new contract for Dak Prescott'' becomes a pretty common headline.

Your going to be very disappointed because Dak isnt going anywhere. And is most likely going to get extended.

You are probably right but it's more complicated than some wanna believe. In other words, it is not a slam dunk IMO.

When you watch the games they (the team including Dak) can have a stinker against bad teams. They have beaten good teams in important games or just good teams. They just can’t string them together in playoffs for more than 1 so far. We had a good chance. We will soon find out if Dak is changing plays or if it was the playcaller.

I agree but it appears something is going on with Dak. Can't put my fingers on it but it's strange how he can look like an ALL-Pro one game ( Bucs ) and a rookie the next one. Maybe the pressure of being a $40M QB for the Cowboys is starting to get to him. It's frustrating to see a few experts break down certain games and show how he's leaving a lot of good plays on the field. To be honest, I'm sensing a certain amount of frustration from Jerry who's been nothing short of an iron-clad supporter.

There's no decision Dak can stay until he's this old.

There is something to JJ letting Moore go. Maybe Moore wanted to go and maybe JJ wanted him gone. He didn’t work hard like he did to keep Moore like he did Quinn. And we have had a top Offense for a while. People talk about Dak can’t play against cover defense or what ever bucs run but he picked them apart. Along with egirls a few weeks prior. The games we lost was unbalanced games and 2 games our Defense blew a 14 and 17 point lead. The picks need to stop and we will see soon if MM is calling the plays. WCO os alot of short passes and that’s up Daks alley. But we have got to run the ball. Dak and most QBs won’t be int free throwing the ball 40 times a game..
