like it until the 7th
appreciate your effort

actually Gibson is a great pick in the 7th. I don't know much about Bond, though.

There is a lot of talent in the 6th and 7th round, and we have a recent history of finding those players. I wish we had a few 6th rounders and a handful of 7th rounders. I honestly believe our staff would find some great talent and depth for this team.

I would rather take a shot with Jarvis Harrison instead. Potential pro bowl guard that has fallen as a 7-UDFA due to character issues.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan

1 Preston Smith, DE/DT 6 - 6 #280 Ole Miss
He is 6-5, 271. I would prefer him as a DT over DE. As a 4-3 DE I'm not that impressed with him. As a DT the question would be if he can carry more weight and maintain enough quickness.

I don't see him as a 1st round pick.

2 Jeremy Langford, RB, 6 #205, Mich State
I like Landford, but it seems like you might be over-drafting a pet cat.

3 Eric Rowe, CB, 6-1 #200 Utah
Good pick.

4 Taiwan Jones, ILB, 6 - 3 #245 Mich State
He seems more like a 2 down thumper type. The Cowboys need LB that can play in the Nickel (66% of the snaps in 2014), IMO.

5 Derrick Lott, DT, 6-4, #300 Tennessee- Chattanooga
Good developmental DT; however, I don't know if more developmental DT are really what the Cowboys need. They have a big list of developmental guy as this position and probably more than at most other positions.

7a Laurence Gibson, OT, 6 - 6 #305 Virginia Tech
I like the upside of this player. Definitely the type of player to take in the 7th round.

7b Al Bond, OG, 6 -4 #305 Memphis

Bond started 42 contests at the University of Memphis. Al played three different positions over the course of his career at Memphis, displaying his athleticism, versatility and knowledge of the game of football. He played over 96% of the offensive snaps in the Tigers’ past three seasons
He had a brutally bad combine especially considering that he only weighed 303 pounds. His vertical jump was terrible 23" compared to 29" for Fred and Leary.

I might look for an OL with higher athletic upside here and sign Bond as a udfa. Maybe a guy like Takoby Cofield.
